LINE VOLTAGE THERMOSTAT MANUAL

Welcome to the Hunter Home Comfort family of quality products. The line voltage
thermostats are designed for operation with resistance heating elements and unit
heaters. These thermostats use snap action switches and do not require leveling.
There are two models: 40351–single pole and 40352–double pole.
Removal and Installation:
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE – RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. Before removing the
existing thermostat and installing your Hunter thermostat, disconnect the power to
the furnace to avoid an electrical hazard.
1) Before disconnecting your existing thermostat, make sure that you note and label
how the wires were connected to the thermostat. 2) Remove the existing thermostat.
3) Your Hunter thermostat is made up of three sections: the baseplate, the cover, and
the knob. 4) Connect the wires from the wall to the baseplate screw terminals
according to the connection diagrams for each model. Connect the ground wire to the
ground screw on the baseplate.
Caution: Failure to connect the ground wire could result in electrical shock. 5) Attach the
baseplate to the box with the two screws provided. 6) Snap the cover onto the baseplate
top first then the bottom. 7) Place the knob on the switch and turn to the off position.
8) Restore the power to the furnace. 9) Set the temperature by turning the knob to the
desired temperature.
