All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:22 am Page 5   Installation...   CONNECT TO A DRAINAGE SYSTEM...   Sink Waste System   WARNING   For under sink drainage: Before   connecting the drain hose, remove any   internal restrictions - This will prevent a   build up of debris which could cause a   blockage.   G Connect your dishwasher drain hose to   pipes which connect to the foul drain   system and not to surface water drains.   IMPORTANT NOTES   For the correct operation of your   dishwasher, it is essential to comply with   the following information.   Remove any restrictions from the waste   spigot and ensure that the sealing   bung is removed. The hose should be   routed, such that it is raised to a   Standpipe   minimum height of 800mm (31/2").   Fit the hose to the standpipe   hook which can be found in   the machine.   Ensure that the hose is not   pushed too far down the   standpipe.   120   min   DO NOT position the   standpipe near an electrical   outlet.   Note: Ensure the sink outlet pipe has a   minimum diameter of 32mm (11/4")   . ENSURE that the drain hose is routed as   shown in the diagram.   The standpipe should be connected to:   a) A discharge stack-pipe   b) An external gulley OR   c) A sink waste.   The standpipe should have a bore of at   least 38mm (11/2"). It should be installed as   shown, have a trap fitted and must   discharge into the same drain system as   your household sink.   It must NOT be connected to a surface   water drain.   1. Untie the end of the GREY drainage   hose from the rear of the appliance.   2. Reposition ‘Hooked End Support’as   required along GREY drainage hose.   3. If fitting an under sink waste disposal   unit, cut out the membrane, bung or   blanking plug.   4. Most   cold water supplies will be in this   range.   CHECKLIST...   When you have installed your appliance,   ensure it is ready to use by following this   Check List:   1. Dispose of packaging safely, see   ‘Recycling Information’on page 2.   G Note: Low water pressure will lead to   excessively long fill times or no fill.   G Ensure that the new hose supplied is   connected and the old hose is disposed   of safely.   G Ensure the fill hose is only connected   to the cold water supply.   2. If the switch is set   between 1 and 3 , then salt must   be added.   Note:   Only use recommended Dishwasher salt or   granular salt. DO NOT use everyday table   salt, cooking salt or road salt as they   contain insoluble substances which could   harm the Dishwasher.   WARNING:   How the salt works: While washing is   taking place, salt is automatically rinsed out   of the salt container into the water softener   where it dissolves the lime in the water.The   dissolved lime is pumped out of the dish-   washer.The water softener system is then   ready for the next load.This process of   regeneration can only function when the   salt is dissolved in water.   DO NOT pour detergent into the special   Salt Container. This will destroy the   water softener.   LOW SALT indicator   Add more salt as soon as the LOW SALT   indicator 4 on the front panel lights   up.   GG You should fill just before starting the   programme.   G Unscrew the lid of the salt container.   Before using the dishwasher for the   first time, pour approximately 1 litre of   water into the salt container.   G Use the supplied funnel to fill salt to the   top of the container (maximum of 1.5kg).   As you tip in the salt some of the water   is displaced and drains away.   When you have done this, clean off any   remnants of salt from the area around   the neck of the container. The tablets and rinse   aid have a built in salt function guarantee-   ing great results.   You can use Sun All in One almost any-   where (in the UK / Ireland) without having   to add extra salt. In areas of very hard water   you may need to use some salt in addition   to Sun All in One to prevent scale deposits   on your dishes and dishwasher.   Simply fill the rinse aid container with Sun   All in One Rinse Aid, prior to using the dish-   washer and then add a Sun All in One tablet   in the detergent dispenser.   The Low Salt indicator light will come on   after a few washes with Sun All in One. It is not necessary to   rinse the dishes under running water.   Lower basket   Place objects in the dishwasher in such   a way that:   - Items such as cups, glasses,   pots/pans, etc. are stood upside   down.   - Curved items, or those with   recesses, should be at a slant so   that water can run off.   - - They are stacked securely and   cannot tip over.   They do not prevent the spray   arms from rotating while washing   takes place.   Cups and Glasses   Folding Spikes   Upper basket   To improve stacking of pots and pans,   the spikes can be folded down.   Do not overload the appliance! It   may reduce the quality of the wash.   Cutlery   WARNING To prevent damage to   crockery or risk of injury, slowly pull   the baskets out of the dishwasher,   ensuring they remain in the basket   runners.   Cutlery should always be inserted in   random order with the blades pointing   downwards (take care with knife   blades). All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:23 am Page 18   Adjusting basket position   Knife rack (accessory)   Shelf   Lean tall glasses and those with long   stems against the shelf - not against   other items being washed.   Place glasses, cups and small bowls on   the additional cup rack. This additional   cup rack can be swivelled in or out as   required.   The top basket can be inserted on   either its upper or lower rollers,   according to requirement.   This enables more height to be gained   for bigger dishes in either the top or   the bottom basket.   Long items, serving cutlery, salad   servers or knives should be placed on   the shelf so that they do not obstruct   the rotation of the spray arms. All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:23 am Page 19   Washing Dishes   Programme selection   End of Programme.   The most appropriate programme can be   identified by comparing the type of crockery,   cutlery etc., as well as the amount and   condition of food remains, with the details   contained in the programme overview.   The corresponding programme sequence,   duration and consumption details are shown   in the bottom half of the overview.   - (Models DWF35 and DWF34 only)   The programme has ended when a   figure 0appears in the numerical   display 7 .   - (Models DWF33 and DWF30 only)   The programme has come to an end   when the Programme End indicator   10 light and the selected programme   indicator are both illuminated.   For example:   Use the “Normal”programme for dishes and   utensils which have plenty of food remains   stuck on hard.   Switching the dishwasher OFF   Several minutes after the programme has   ended:   Reduce costs   - - - Set the mains switch to OFF.   Turn the water tap off.   If only a small number of dishes have been   loaded into the dishwasher, selecting a   programme that operates at the next lowest   temperature will usually suffice.   Remove dishes, etc. when they have   cooled down.   Interrupting the programme.   Programme data   - - Set the mains switch to OFF.   The indicator light will go out.   The programme is retained in the   dishwashers memory.   If the hot water was switched ON or   the appliance has already heated up   and then the appliance door opened,   leave the door ajar for several minutes   and then close.   Otherwise, the appliance door may fly   open due to expansion.   The stated programme data are based on   standard operating conditions.The values can   vary considerably according to:   - - - - - - Different amounts of dishes   Temperature of mains water supply.   Pressure of mains water supply   Ambient temperature   Fluctuations in mains voltage.   Machine-related factors (e.g.   temperature, water volume,...)   - - In order to resume the stored   programme, set the mains switch to   ON again.   Energy and water consumption is reduced by   up to 1/4 when dishes are washed in the   upper basket only.   Water consumption values are based on a   water hardness setting of:   4 for Models DWF35 and DWF34   2 for Models DWF33 and DWF30   Note:   Plug-in delay timer cannot be used with   Models DWF33 and DWF30.   Switching the dishwasher ON.   - Press the mains switch to ON. All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:23 am Page 20   Washing Dishes   Programming the timer (DWF 35/34)   You can delay that start of a programme in   increments of one hour for up to 9 hours.   Altering the programme.   It is possible to change the programme within   2 minutes of switching the dishwasher   ON.   - - Switch mains switch 1 to ON.   Immediately press the TIMER button 8   The numerical display 7 changes to   1 .   Should it be necessary to change the   programme after this period, the selected   programme cycle that has already begun will   be completed first of all.   - - Press the TIMER button as many times   as necessary until the numerical display   shows the required delay.   To erase the time delay setting, keep   pressing the TIMER button until 0   appears in the numerical display.   (DWF35 and DWF34)   The new remaining time displayed is the sum   of the remaining time from the preceding   programme cycle and the remaining time   attributable to the new programme that has   been selected.   You can change your programme   selection as often as you like during   the intervening period before the   dishwasher starts up.   Cancel Programme (Reset)   Only when the mains switch is ON.   Press the programme end buttons 11   together and hold them for approx 3 seconds.   Then:   Time-remaining indicator (DWF35/34)   The time-remaining indicator is self-learning.   When the programme begins, it displays the   estimated duration of that programme.This   figure is based upon the duration of the   previous programme, or if the dishwasher is   being used for the first time, the programme   used for testing the dishwasher in the factory.   While the programme is running, the indicator   shows the amount of time before the   (DWF35 and DWF34)   - - The numerical display shows 0.   The programme continues for approx   1 minute.   - - When it has ended, set the mains   switch 1 to OFF.   Close the detergent compartment.   To restart the dishwasher, set the   mains switch 1 to ON again and select   the desired programme.   programme ends. The time remaining is also   adjusted to account for the temperature of   the water supply and the number of dishes.   (DWF33 and DWF30)   The programme continues for approx 1   minute.   - Intensive drying function (DWF35/34)   Activating the intensive drying function   increases the temperature during the   rinse-aid stage which gives better drying   results.   The programme End indicator light 10   and the indicator light for the   programme which was running will   both light up.   Set the mains switch 1 to OFF.   Close the detergent compartment.   To restart the dishwasher, set the   mains switch 1 to ON again and select   the desired programme.   - - - Press and hold the ‘Normal wash’   button and set the mains switch 1 to   ON.   - Release both buttons.   Either 1(ON) or 0(OFF) flashes in the   numerical display 7 .   Press the normal wash button to   change the setting.   - - Set the mains switch 1 to OFF.   The new setting is stored in the   dishwasher memory.   20   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:23 am Page 21   Care and Maintenance...   Regular inspection and maintenance of your   appliance helps to prevent problems from   occurring.This saves time and aggravation.   You should therefore carefully inspect the   inside of your dishwasher from time to time.   Overall condition of appliance.   - Check that no grease or scale has   accumulated on the inside of the   dishwasher.   If you discover any deposits:   - Clean the interior of the dishwasher   thoroughly with a detergent solution.   Reassembly:   Insert the filter system and screw   down with the filter cylinder.   Dishwasher salt.   - The LOW SALT indicator on the control panel   4 will illuminate when salt is required.You   can also check the salt container itself.   Rinse-aid.   The LOW RINSE-AID indicator on the control   panel 5 will illuminate when rinse-aid is   required. Also check the level indicator on the   container.   IMPORTANT: Filters.   The filters prevent large particles of food or   other objects from getting inside the   pump.This residue can occasionally block   the filters.   The filter system consists of a filter   cylinder, a flat fine filter and depending on   the Model, a microfilter (*).   - Inspect the filters for obstructions   every time the dishwasher has been   used.   By unscrewing the filter cylinder, you   can remove the filter system. Remove   any food remnants and clean the   filters under running water.   Remove any particles of food and   rinse the filters under running water.   - Ensure that the filter is locked in place by   screwing down until the two arrows are   aligned (as above).   21   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   FP105-01 DWF35/34/33/30 12/02/2002 10:23 am Page 22   Care and Maintenance...   Spray arms.   Protection from freezing temperatures.   Lime and remnants of food in the washing   water can block the nozzles in the spray arms   and the arm mountings.   If the appliance is installed in a location where   there is a risk of freezing temperatures (eg. in   a holiday home), all water must be completely   drained out of the interior.   - Inspect the nozzles in the spray arms   for blocked holes due to remnants of   food.   Turn OFF the tap, disconnect the supply hose   and allow to drain.   Disconnecting the Dishwasher...   - - If necessary, pull the lower arm   upwards and lift it off.   Unscrew the upper spray arm.   Clean both spay arms under running   water.   Re-fit the spray arms. Ensure that the   lower arm has locked into place and   the upper one is screwed tight.   When disconnecting the appliance it is   important that tasks are carried out in the   correct sequence:   - Switch off at the mains and remove   the plug from the socket.   Turn off the water supply.   Disconnect drain and water input   hoses.   - - - - - Remove screws in underside of work   surface.   Pull out the appliance, carefully,   withdrawing hoses at the same time.   Transporting the Dishwasher...   Drain water from the dishwasher. Secure all   loose parts.The dishwasher should only be   transported in an upright position.   If not kept upright during transport, any   water remaining inside, may seep into the   control module and cause subsequent   errors with programme functions.   (DWF35/34 only)   The appliance must be drained in the   following sequence:   - - - Turn on the tap.   Set the mains switch 1 to ON.   Select the Economy 50˚ button.The   programme duration in minutes is   shown in the numerical display.   Wait for approx. 4 minutes.   Terminate the programme by pressing   the Programme End buttons 11   simultaneously.   - - - - The time display changes to 0.   Wait a further minute and then switch   the dishwasher OFF.   - Turn off the tap.   22   Download from Www.Somanuals.com.
