IMPORTAANT SAFEETTY INSTRUUCTIONS  
Read all of the instructionsbefore using thisappliance. When usingthis appliance, always  
exercise basic safetyprecautions, including thefollowing:  
1) Save theseinstructions- The safetyand operation instructionsshould be retainedfor future  
reference.  
2) All warningson the applianceand in theoperating instructions shouldbe followed.  
3) Cleaning- UnplugTV from thewall outlet beforecleaning. Do notuse liquid cleanersor  
aerosol cleaners.Use onlya damp clothfor cleaning.Exceptions: Someproducts are  
designed for uninterruptedservice, eg. Cable TV converters, Unplugging such accessories  
may result inloss of authorizationcodes. In suchcases, please follow instructions or  
unplugging such devicesas provided bythe accessories manufacturer.  
4)Attachments-Do not useattachments not recommendedby the TVmanufacturer as they  
may cause hazards.  
5) Water and moisture-Do notplace this TVnear water, for example, near a bathtub, wash  
bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub, in a wetbasement, or neara swimming pool.  
6)Accessories - Donot place thisTV on anunstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The  
TV may fallcausing serious injury to someone, andserious damage tothe appliance. Use  
only with acart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended bythe manufacturer`s, or  
sold with theTV. Any mountingof the applianceshould follow themanufacturer`s instructions  
and should usea mounting accessory recommended by themanufacturer. An appliance  
and cart combination should be movedwith care. Quickstops, excessive force, and uneven  
surface may cause the appliance and Cart combination to overturn.  
7) Ventilation- Slots andopenings in thecabinet and theback or bottomare provided for  
ventilation and toensure overheating. Theseopenings must notbe locked in an builtin  
installation such abookcase or rack unless proper ventilationis provided orthe  
manufacturer instructions havebeen adhered to.  
8)Power sources - This TVshould be operatedonly from thetype of powersources indicated  
on the electricalnameplate. If youare not sureof the typeof the powersupply to yourhome,  
consult your appliancedealer or localpower company. For TV`s intended tooperate from  
battery power or other source, referto the operationinstructions.  
9)Grounding or polarization- This TVis equipped witha polarized alternatingcurrent line plug  
(a plug havingone blade widerthan the otheris). This plugwill fit intothe power outletonly  
one way. This issafety feature. Ifyou are unableto insert the plug fully intothe outlet, try  
reversing the plug. If the plugshould still failto fit, contactyour electrician to replace your  
outlet. Don`t defeatthe safety purposeof the polarizedplug.  
10)Power cord protection - Power supply cordsshould be routedso that theyare not likely to  
be walked on or pinchedby items placedupon or againstthem, paying particular attention  
to cords orPlugs, convenience receptacle, and the pointwhere they exitfrom the  
appliance.  
11) Out antennagrounding - Ifan outside antenna  
or cable systemis grounded soas to providesome  
protection against voltagesurges and builtup static  
charges. Article 810 of the NationalElectrical Code,  
ANSI/NEPA NO.70,provided information withrespect  
to proper groundingof the mastand supporting  
structure, grounding ofthe lead inwire to antenna  
discharge unit, sizeof grounding conductors, location  
of antenna dischargeunit, connection togrounding  
electrodes, and requirementfor the groundingelectrode. (Fig. A)  
12)Lightning precaution -For added protection for thisTV  
receiver during aLightning storm orwhen it isleft unattended  
for long periodof time, unplugit from thewall outlet and  
disconnect the antennaor cable system. This will prevent  
damage to theTV due tolighting and Power line surges.

13)Object and liquid entry - Never push objects of any kind into this TV throughopenings  
as they may touch dangerous voltage point or short out parts that could result in a fire  
or electric shock.Avoid spilling liquid of any kind on the TV.  
14)Servicing - Do not attempt toservice the TV by yourself, as opening or removing covers  
may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified  
service personnel.  
15)Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this TV from the wall outletand refer servicing to  
qualified service personnel under the following conditions:  
a. When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed.  
b. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have been fallen into the TV.  
c. If the TV has been exposed to rain or water.  
d. If the TV does not operate normally by following the operation instructions. Adjust only  
those controls that are covered by the operation instructions, as improper adjustment  
of other control may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified  
technician to restore the TV toits normal operation.  
e. If theTV has been dropped or damaged in any way.  
f. When the TV exhibitsa distinct change in performance; this indicates a need for service.  
16) Replacement parts - When replacement parts a required, be sure the service technician  
uses replacement parts specified by themanufacturer that thesame characteristic as the  
original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, injury to persons or  
other hazards.  
17) Safety check- Upon completion of any service of repairs to this TV, ask the service  
technician to perform routine safety checks to determine thatthe TV isin proper operation  
condition.  
18) Heat -This TV product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat  
registers, stoves, or other products (Including amplifiers) that produce heat.  
19) Modifications -Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the Federal  
Communications.  
20)Clean only with a dry cloth.  
21)Do not blockany ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's  
instructions.  
22)Do not install near any hear sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other  
apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.  
23)Do not defeatthe safety purposes of the polarizedor grounding type plug. A polarized  
plug has two blades with one wider than theother. A grounding type plug has two blades  
and a third grounding prong. The wide blade orthe third prong is provided for your safety.  
When the providedplug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement  
of the obsoleteoutlet.  
24)Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs,  
convenience receptacles, and the point wherethey exit fromthe apparatus.  
25)Only use the attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.  
26)Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the  
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged,  
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been  
exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

Menu Functions  
Video Set Up:  
Pressing MENU button once will bring the Video Set Up menu on the TV.  
The following is shown on your TV screen:  
Follow the procedure below to adjust the  
picture quality of your choice:  
1.Press the CH(+) and CH(-) button to go  
up and down the menu.  
2.Press the VOL(+) and VOL(-) button to  
increase and decrease the level to your  
preference for each item.

Adjustment of Picture Quality:  
To adjust the picture quality from the factory preset read the following:  
Picture: By increasing the level,it will adjust white areas of picture and by decreasing the level ,  
it will adjust black areas of picture.  
Brightness: By increasing the level, it will add more light to dark parts of the picture and by  
decreasing the level,it will add more dark to light parts of the picture.  
Color: By increasing thelevel,it will adjust the low and the high level of the picture.  
Sharpness: By increasing the level, it will show cleaner and clearer images and by decreasing  
the level, it will make picture smoother.  
Hue: You can adjust the tint of the picture by going into picture set up menu. By decreasing the  
level, it will give red tint to skin color and by increasing the color it will give green tint to  
skin color.  
Color Temp : By pressing the VOL(+/-) buttons to select the three setting A)Neutral, B)Warm,  
C)Cool.  
Audio Set Up:  
By pressing MENUbutton ,and thenpressing VOL(-/+) button it willbring you toAudio  
Set Up display. You will see thefollowing menu onyour TV screen:

Ch. Select: This exclusive feature switches you to your favorite channel at the  
appropriate set time. Press VOL(+) and VOL(-) buttons to select the channel.  
Time-Off : Press CH( +/-) buttons to scroll to Clock, then press VOL (-/+) buttons to  
set the hour. Aftersetting the hour press CH( +/-) buttons to go to minute mode  
and et by using VOL(+/-) buttons.  
Sleep Time: This feature allows you to turn off television in pre-selected minutes (180,  
170,160, ........,10 and 0).  
Remind time: Press CH( +/-) buttons to scroll to Clock, then press VOL (-/+) buttons  
to set the hour. After setting the hour press CH( +/-) buttons to go to minute mode  
and set by using VOL(+/-) buttons.  
Ch. Switch: This feature lets you store your favorite channel. Once you store the  
channel number in this function, when the set time is up, it will switch over  
to the set channel. This feature is used with the Exchange feature. Press  
VOL(+) or VOL(-) button to select the channel.

Function Set Up menu. You will see the following menu on your screen:

Language: Use VOL(+/-) to select the OSDin either English, French or Spanish.  
Background: Press the VOL (+/-) buttons toselect between BackgroundON or Background  
OFF. When theBackground ON function is chosen, a moving"NO SIGNAL" sign will  
be displayed ifthere is noinput signal to the set.  
Black Stretch: Press VOL (+/-) buttons toturn the BlackStretch feature onor off. When the  
Black Stretch functionis on thescreen automatically increases the contrast range.  
VNR: Press VOL (+/-) buttons to turnthe VNR functionon or off. VNR isa term forVideo  
Noise Reduction, a built-in deviceon the setthat reduces videonoise interference  
so the vieweris assured a clear picture.  
C.Caption: Press VOL (+/-) buttons to selectthe Closed Captionoptions. Closed  
Captioning helps thehearing impaired withthe broadcast program, as well as helping  
children learn howto read. Abuilt in decoderdisplays the audio portion of a program  
as text onthe screen whenthis option is selected.  
OFF: When OFF is displayed on TV means C.Caption is turned off.  
CC1: When CC1displayson TV means C.Caption is turned on.  
CC2 to CC4:For other modes of video related broadcast information.  
T1: For program guide and other information displayedby broadcasters.  
(This blocks alarge portion of the picture onyour screen).  
T2 to T4:For other modes of information displayed by broadcasters.  
(This blocks alarge portion of the picture onyour screen).  
Note: Select CC1for full translationof the primary language such as English in your  
area. Select CC2for secondary language translation such as Spanish or any other  
language that maybe broadcast inyour area.  
Demo mode: Thiswill display themain functions of the TV set.

Auto Program: Press VOL (+) button orVOL (-) button to autoprogram in channels.  
This search automaticallyadds only the active channels in your area tothe TV's  
memory. It deletes any channels on which thereis no broadcast or a poor signal.  
Note: The AutoSearch function willscan the channels on the selectedantenna  
input. If theTV is connectedto cable, pleaseselect Cable underAntenna.  
Calendar:  
Your TV has been designed with a calendar. By pressing MENU button ,and then  
pressing VOL-/+ button it will bring you to Calendar. You will see the following  
display on TV screen.

PARENT LOCK OFF means the lock functionis turned off. If thePARENT LOCK  
is in "OFF" mode then V-CHIP function will not be activeto accept theV-CHIP  
signal.  
PARENT LOCK ON means the lock functionis turned on. If the lock is inthe "ON"  
mode then V-CHIP function is activated to acceptthe V-CHIP signal.  
Password  
The "Default Password" preset bythe manufacturer is"0000" . Ifyou want tochange  
the preset passwordto your own password, just choose any four digits that can be  
easily remembered andset. Once you set password fora particular channel, that  
channel will beblocked. This channel can only be accessed withthe password.  
LOCK Menu  
AV LOCK:Whenit is setON,you can not use the AV.  
PROGRAM LOCK:When it is setON,the current channelis locked,you can not see  
the program ofthis channel.

V-Chip Technology:  
The "V-Chip Technology" allow you to use U.S. and Canada Movies and TV  
PROGRAMS Guide ratings to block certain types of TV programs and movies.  
To understand clearly about TV programs rating codes, read the following list:  
U.S. TV Program Ratings  
NR: Not Rated-this means that programs are not rated or rating does not apply.  
TV-Y:For all children-this type of rated programs are designed for a very young audience,  
including children from ages 2-6.  
TV-Y7:Directed for older children - this type of rated programs may include comedic violence  
of mild physical, or may frighten children under the age of 7.  
TV-G:General Audience-this type of rated programs contains little or no violence, no strong  
language, and little or no sexual dialogue and situations.  
TV-PG:ParentalGuidance Suggested-this type of rated programs may contain limited violence,  
some suggestive sexual dialogue and situations, and rare language.  
TV-14:Parentsstrongly cautioned-this type of rated programs may contain sexual content,  
strong language and more intense violence.  
TV-MA:Mature audienceonly-this type of rated programs may contain sexual violence,  
explicit sexual content and profane language.  
FV: This type of rated programs contains Fantasy and cartoon violence.  
Violence: This type of rated programs contains violence.  
S: This type of rated programs contains sex.  
L: This type of rated programs contains offensive language.  
D: This type of rated programs contains dialogue with sexual content.

U.S. Movies Rating Chart  
NR: This means movie is not rated yet. It is pending government rating approval.  
G:General Audience-this type of movie rating means all ages admitted to see the movie.  
PG-13:Parents Strongly Cautioned - this type of movie rating means some material  
may not be appropriate for children under13.  
R:Restricted- This type of movie rating means children under 17 of age requires to  
be with parentor guardian.  
NC-17:This type of movie rating means no one 17 and under admitted.  
X:This type of movie rating means adults only.  
To understand clearly about Canadian programs rating codes, read the following list:  
Canadian English Rating Chart  
E:Exempt - this type of rated programs contain news, sports, documentaries, talk  
shows, music videos, and variety of other programs.  
C:This type of rated programs are intended for children under age 8. There is no  
offensive language, nudity or sexual content.  
C8+:This type of rated programs generally considered acceptable for children 8  
years and over. There is no profanity, nudity or sexual content.  
G: This type of rated programs generally suitable for all audiences.  
PG: Parental Guidance Suggested -in this type of rated programs, some material  
may not be suitable for children.  
14+:In this type of rated programs, some content may not be suitable for viewers  
under the age of 14.Parents are strongly cautioned not to have their children  
view 14+ rated programs by pre-teens and early teens.  
18:Adults Only-this type of rated programs are only for adult viewers only.
