POWER SOURCES: This product should be operated

only from the type of power source indicated on the

marking label. If you are not sure of the type of

power supply to your home, consult your product

dealer or local power company.

LOCATION: The appliance should be installed in a

stable location.

NON-USE PERIODS: The power cord of the appli-

ance should be unplugged from the outlet when left

unused for a long period of time.

SERVICING: Do not attempt to service this product

yourself as opening or removing covers may expose

you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer

all servicing to qualified service personnel.

DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE: Unplug this prod-

uct from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qual-

ified service personnel under the following condi-

tions:

- When the power-supply cord or plug is dam-

aged.

- If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen

into the product.

GROUNDING OR POLARIZATION:

- If this product is equipped with a polarized alter-

nating current line plug (a plug having one blade

wider than the other), it will fit into the outlet only

one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable

to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing

the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact

your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do

not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized

plug.

- If this product is equipped with a three-wire

grounding type plug, a plug having a third (ground-

ing) pin, it will only fit into a grounding type power

outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to

insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electri-

cian to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat

the safety purpose of the grounding type plug.

POWER-CORD PROTECTION: Power-supply cords

should be routed so that they are not likely to be

walked on or pinched by items placed upon or

against them, paying particular attention to cords at

plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where

they exit from the product.

OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING: If an outside

antenna or cable system is connected to the product,

be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so

as to provide some protection against voltage

surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the

National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides

information with regard to proper grounding of the

mast and supporting structure, grounding of the

lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of

grounding conductors, location of antenna-dis-

charge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and

requirements for the grounding electrode. SEE FIGURE B.

LIGHTNING: For added protection for this product

during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattend-

ed and unused for long periods of time, unplug it

from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or

cable system. This will prevent damage to the prod-

uct due to lightning and power-line surges.

POWER LINES: An outside antenna system should

not be located in the vicinity of overhead power

lines or other electric light or power circuits, or

where it can fall into such power lines or circuits.

When installing an outside antenna system, extreme

care should be taken to keep from touching such

power lines or circuits as contact with them might be

fatal.

- If the product has been exposed to rain or water.

- If the product does not operate normally by fol-

lowing the operating instructions. Adjust only those

controls that are covered by the operating instruc-

tions as an improper adjustment of other controls

may result in damage and will often require exten-

sive work by a qualified technician to restore the

product to its normal operation.

- If the product has been dropped or damaged in

any way.

- When the product exhibits a distinct change in

performance, this indicates a need for service.

REPLACEMENT PARTS: When replacement parts

are required, be sure the service technician has used

replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or

have the same characteristics as the original part.

Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric

shock, or other hazards.

SAFETY CHECK: Upon completion of any service or

repairs to this product, ask the service technician to

perform safety checks to determine that the product

is in proper operating condition.

WALL OR CEILING MOUNTING: The product should

or other products (including amplifiers) that produce

CLEANING: The product should be cleaned only

with a polishing cloth or a soft dry cloth. Never clean

volatile liquids since they may corrode the cabinet.

ATTACHMENTS: Do not use attachments not recom-

mended by the product manufacturer as they may

cause hazards.

ACCESSORIES: Do not place this product on an

unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The

product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or

adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only

with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recom-

mended by the manufacturer, or sold with the prod-

uct. Any mounting of the product should follow the

manufacturer's instructions, and should use a mount-

CART: A product and cart combination should be

moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and

uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart

Your iKEY Audio Powered Monitor/ Subwoofer have been carefully inspected

and tested before packing and shipping. After unpacking your Monitor/Subwoofer carefully

inspect it for exterior damage and immediately report any physical damage during transit to

your shipping carrier.Save the shipping boxes and all packaging materials in case the unit

needs to be returned to your local dealer or iKEY Audio.

Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “com-

fort level” adapts to higher volumes of sound. So what's

sounds “normal” can actually be loud and harmful to your

hearing. Guard against this by setting your equipment at a

safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.

CONNECTIONS

Powering On

All Connections should be made, all fader controls should be set at their

minimum levels, and all other equipment should be powered on prior to

powering on your iKEY audio monitors.

If on the other hand, you are using passive (non-powered) monitor

speakers that require an external amplifier, hook the two outputs of the

subwoofer up to the inputs of the stereo monitor amplifier. Typically this

would also be an XLR connector, but if need be, you could use the con-

nections providing the amplifier will accept them at amp input. Connect

the power amplifier to the speakers as you normally would.

The power On/Off switch is located on the rear panel a red LED locat-

ed on the front of the speaker behind the iKEY logo will illuminate when

power is applied

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HOOK THE SPEAKER OUTPUT OF THE MONI-

TOR AMPLIFIER TO THE INPUT OF THE SUBWOOFER, YOU RUN THE

RISK OF DAMAGING THE EQUIPMENT.

Changing Voltage

To change the voltage, remove the power cord, slide voltage selector to

desired voltage setting. Please note when making voltage changes the

fuses will have to be replaced (See changing fuses section below)

CHANGING FUSES

Under normal operation the fuses should not blow. A blown fuse usually

indicates an overload or fault condition. To change the fuse, remove the

power cord pry off the fuse block with a small flathead screwdriver and

change the blown fuses.

Refer to specifications page (8) for fuse current ratings.

IF A FUSE BLOWS UPON POWER UP THIS INDICATES A FAULT CON-

DITION AND THE MONITOR SHOULD BE RETURNED TO IKEY AUDIO

FOR REPAIR.

Subwoofer Hook-Up

Wiring

The iKEY Subwoofer includes a built-in crossover and amplifier,

so you only need the appropriate hookup cables to integrate

it into your existing monitor system. First, you need to connect a

pair of cables from the stereo monitor outputs of your console or

DJ mixer to the XLR or 1/4” input jacks on the subwoofer.

Next, if you are using the internal 80-hz high-pass filter built into

the subwoofer for the existing full-range monitors (and most of-

you will), hook up the 1/4” output jacks on the subwoofer to the line-

level inputs of your full range speakers

SYSTEM CONTROL/

SPEAKER PLACEMENT

System Volume

The input sensitivity is adjusted (counterclockwise reduces sensitivity) with

the rear panel mounted system gain control. Adjustment range is from -

80db to + 6db, which should suffice for most conditions. Normally

adjustments would only be made if you’re using your monitor in a sur-

round system and need to balance levels or if your monitor send is to hot

and not adjustable.

Speaker Placement

Positioning your monitors correctly in the studio is critical to their perform-

ance.Typically, they should be placed so that the listening position is fully

“covered” with all monitors resting on the same horizontal plane. A great

way to test a monitor for its imaging capability is to play back a CD or

DVD recorded acoustically in stereo . We recommend acoustic music

because it represents the spectrum of sound. You can adjust the angle of

each monitor by listening for dead spots. keep in mind, changing the

angle or position of a monitor will change the sound.

HF Adjustment

High Frequency Adjustment is through a rear panel mounted 4-position

rotary switch. Range of control is +1db, flat, -1db, or -2db Shelving

above 2khz. Factory setting for your iKEY Audio powered Monitor is flat

(switch is the 0db position). Room acoustics may dictate which type of

adjustment you nee to make to retain a flat frequency response from the

monitor.

Crossover

This adjusts the crossover frequency for the built-in 24db/octave vari-

able crossover. The crossover frequency can be adjusted from 50Hz to

110Hz. Frequencies below the crossover frequency are sent to the sub-

woofer, and frequencies above the crossover frequency are sent to the

LEFT and RIGHT OUTputs, which are connected to the main satellite

speakers. Set the crossover frequency to the lowest frequency response

rating of the main /Satellite speakers.

Phase

This switch reverses the polarity of the signal going to the subwoofer

amplifier by 180 . It has no effect on the signal at the LEFT and RIGHT

OUT or the MASTER OUT. There is no right or wrong setting for this

switch. Listen to the overall blend of the subwoofer with the rest of the

system, and select the switch position that gives you the best sound.

Auto Power

If set to the AUTO position the subwoofer will go into STANDBY mode

(mute) if Idle for more than 45 minutes it resumes working immediately

after an input signal is received. If set to the ON position it will be on

constantly, and the OFF position allows you to use the subwoofers power

switch Manually.

Peak LED

The Peak LED will illuminate if the input channels are being overloaded.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM: IF THERE IS NO POWER, CHECK TO SEE IF...

• The power cord is plugged into both the IEC socket on the rear panel

of the unit and into the AC mains

noise (i.e., a slight hiss or hum). If there's absolutely no sound whatsoever,

it could be that one or more of the drivers (woofer or tweeter or both) is

at fault. It's also possible that the problem lies some where in the elec-

tronics.

• The power light is illuminated on the front panel of the Ikey audio. If

not, turn the power switch OFF and check the A/C mains fuse(s). NEVER

USE A LARGER AMPERAGE FUSE THAN IS SPECIFIED! Turn the power

switch back on. The power light should illuminate.

• Play some non-distorted source material at a low volume. Carefully

cover the tweeter (to block the sound) without touching the diaphragm. Is

the woofer producing a clean sound? If there is not a clear tonal quality

or any sound at all then the woofer probably needs to be replaced.

• If a fuse change was needed and upon powering the monitor back up

the fuse(s) blow again, the monitor needs to be returned to the dealer

you purchased it from or to IKEY AUDIO Monitor for servicing.

• Cover the woofer so you can hear mostly the tweeter. Is the tweeter

producing a clear sound? If there is not a clear tonal quality or any

sound at all then the tweeter probably needs to be replaced.

PROBLEM: IF YOU CAN'T HEAR ANY SOUND...

• Repeat steps in the previous troubleshooting section above before con-

tinuing to the next steps.

• Once you have a better idea of what may be at fault then call us and

speak with someone in the service department. They will help you deter-

mine the best solution to correct your monitors.

• Check to see if all other audio devices using the same AC outlet are

still operating.

PROBLEM: THE MONITOR HISSES, HUMS OR MAKES OTHER LOUD

NOISES...

• MAKE SURE THAT:

• The audio source cable is plugged into both the source output and

the monitor input.

Here are some suggestions that will help you eliminate these undesirable

from your system:

• The system gain pot is turned up fully clockwise (+ 6 dB).

• Make sure that the power cord is plugged snugly into the IEC socket on

the rear of the monitor.

• The signal source (E.g. mixing console, work station, CD player, etc.) is

turned up to a level that can properly send a signal to the monitors.

• Check the connections between the signal source and the monitor. The

Ikey audio's XLR and TRS connector is a completely balanced system. If

you're connecting an unbalanced output to the monitor, be sure that

you're using PIN 2 for signal and have PIN 1 and PIN 3 tied together at

the source end.

• If one of the monitors is working. Exchange the audio input cable from

the non-working monitor to the working unit. This will determine whether

it's really the monitor, a faulty cable, or some other glitch in the audio

chain.

• Refer to the Connecting the System section on page 4 of this manual to

ensure that the AC mains is matched to the operating voltage require-

ments.

• If the monitor is still not responding, it should be returned to the dealer

that you purchased it from or to IKEY AUDIO for servicing.

PROBLEM: IF THE MONITOR SUDDENLY STOPS WORKING...

• Turn the monitor send down or off.

• All audio equipment should use the same ground point. Check all other

devices using the same AC output in the building like dimmers, neon signs,

TV screens, and computer monitors. These devices should not be using the

same circuit. .

• Repeat steps in the troubleshooting sections above before continuing to

the next steps.

• Carefully check to see if the amplifier's back plate is hot! If the monitor

has been running at highest power output for an extended period of

time, it could be that the unit has become overheated and the protection

circuitry has shut the system down momentarily. The Ikey audio monitor

provides maximum circuitry protection against AC power surges, amplifi-

er overdrive, and overheating of the amplifiers. Turn the monitor off then

wait 30 minutes to allow the back plate to cool down. Turn the power

switch back on.

• Increase the volume to check for normal operation.

• If the monitor is still not responding, it should be returned to the dealer

that you purchased it from or to IKEY AUDIO for servicing.

In the USA, Ikey audio guarantees its products against defects in workmanship for the period of One (1) year*

from the original date of purchase.

There are no obligations of liability on the part of GCI, Ikey audio, or any of its retailers for consequential damages arising out of or in connection with

reinstallation. All implied warranties for GCI, including implied warranties for fitness, are limited in duration to One (1) year from the original date of

Returning Your Product for Service:

Authorization (RMA) number and the address of an authorized service center closest to you.

After receiving an RMA, include a copy of the original sales receipt, with defective product and a description of the defect. Send by insured freight

to GCI Technologies Corporation, and use the address provided by your customer service representative. Your RMA must be written on the outside

of the package, or processing will be delayed indefinitely! GCI reserves the right to refuse all packages that arrive without an RMA number.

Service covered under warranty will be paid for by GCI and returned to you. For non-warrantied products, GCI will repair your unit after payment is

received. Repair charges do not include return freight.

Your warranty is valid only in the country where the unit has been purchased. Repairs performed outside of the country of purchase will be treated as

out-of-warranty.

For warranty service, you pay for shipping to GCI; we pay for return shipping within the Continental United States. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico,

Canada, Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands will be charged for freight.

ADVERTENCIAS E INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD IMPORTANTES

ATENCIÓN: Este producto cumple con la normativa legal

si se utilizan cables y conectores blindados para conectar

la unidad a otro equipo. Para evitar interferencias electro-

magnéticas con otros aparatos eléctricos, como radios y

televisores, deben emplearse cables y conectores blinda-

dos.

UBICACIÓN: Este aparato debe colocarse en una ubi-

cación estable.

- El aparato no funciona con normalidad, ni aun siguiendo

las instrucciones. Ajuste sólo los mandos que se indican en

las instrucciones, ja que la mani-pulación inadecuada de

otros controles podría dañar la unidad y requeriría un

mayor trabajo de un técnico para restablecer su fun-

cionamiento normal.

PERIODOS SIN USARLO: Si no se va a usar la unidad

durante un tiempo prolongado, desenchúfelo de la corri-

ente eléctrica.

TOMA DE TIERRA O POLARIZACIÓN:

Los signos de exclamación dentro de un triángulo que

puedan aparecer en la documentación que acompaña a la

unidad pretenden alertar al usuario de instrucciones de

operación o mantenimiento importantes.

- Si el producto muestra anomalías en su funcionamiento,

necesita revisión por parte de un servicio técnico autoriza-

do.

- Si este producto lleva una clavija de corriente alterna

polarizada (con un pivote más grueso que otro, tipo inglés),

sólo entrará en una posición. Es una medida de seguridad.

Si no puede introducir la clavija en el enchufe, gírela. En

ningún caso debe forzarse. Si sigue sin entrar, un electricista

debería cambiar el enchufe.

RECAMBIOS: Cuando se necesite alguna pieza de

recambio, asegúrese de que el servicio técnico uti-lice

piezas originales autorizadas o que tengan las mismas car-

acterísticas que las originales. Los reemplazos no autoriza-

dos pueden causar descargas eléctricas, incendios u otros

daños.

El signo de un rayo dentro de un triángulo pretende aler-

tar al usuario de la presencia de "voltaje peligroso" no ais-

lado en el interior de la unidad, que podría ser de sufi-

ciente intensidad como para constituir riesgo de descarga

eléctrica.

- Si la unidad lleva una clavija con tres pivotes (el tercero

corresponde a la toma de tierra), sólo entrará en un tipo

de enchufe. Se trata de una medida de seguridad. Si el

enchufe y la clavija no son compatibles, un electricista

deberá cambiar el enchufe. En ningún caso deberá

forzarse.

LEA LAS INSTRUCCIONES: Deben leerse todas las indi-

caciones de uso y seguridad antes de usar este producto.

COMPROBACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD: Tras la reparación,

solicite al técnico que efectúe las comprobaciones de

seguridad necesarias para determinar que el producto se

encuentra en las condiciones adecuadas para su fun-

usarlo, desenchúfelo de la corriente y desconecte la ante-

na o sistema de cables. De este modo se protegerá el pro-

ducto de los daños que pueda producir la caída de un rayo

o las fluctuaciones de la red eléctrica.

AGUA Y HUMEDAD: No use este producto cerca de

medios acuáticos, como una bañera, un cubo de agua, un

fregadero o un lavadero; tampoco en un sótano húmedo, ni

cerca de una piscina o similar.

ACCESORIOS: No coloque el producto sobre un carrito,

soporte, trípode, brazo o mesa. Podría caer y causar

graves daños a un niño o adulto, así como a la propia

unidad. Úsese sólo con un carrito, soporte, trípode, brazo o

mesa recomendado por el fabricante. Al montar la unidad

deben seguirse siempre las instrucciones y emplearse acce-

sorios recomendados por el fabricante.

LÍNEAS ELÉCTRICAS: Nunca debe situarse un sistema de

antena cerca de líneas eléctricas u otros circuitos de corri-

ente. Tampoco debe colocarse en lugares donde pueda

caer sobre dichos circuitos eléctricos. Al instalar un sistema

de antenización exterior, debe tomarse la extrema precau-

ción de no tocar dichas líneas eléctricas, pues el más míni-

mo contacto puede ser mortal.

CARRITO: Si el producto va sobre un carrito, debe

moverse el conjunto con cuidado. Detenciones bruscas, una

fuerza excesiva o superficies inadecuadas pueden provo-

car la caída de todo el conjunto. V^ÉASEFIGURA A.

SOBRECARGA: No sobrecargue los enchufes de la pared

con ladrones o instalando enchufes múltiples, pues correría

el riesgo de electrocución o incendio.

VENTILACIÓN: Las aperturas y ranuras de la carcasa

están diseñadas para la ventilación, aseguran un manejo

fiable y lo protegen de cualquier sobrecalentamiento, por

tanto, nunca deben cubrirse ni bloquearse. Estas aperturas

LA ENTRADA DEL SUBWOOFER. CORRE EL RIESGO DE PROVOCAR

GRAVES DAÑOS AL EQUIPO.

Cambio de voltaje

Para cambiar el voltaje, desconecte primero el cable de corriente y sitúe

el selector de voltaje al valor deseado. Note que al cambiar el voltaje

deberán sustituirse los fusibles (véase la sección Cambio de Fusibles, a

continuación).

Ajustes Típicos

CAMBIO DE FUSIBLES

En condiciones normales, los fusibles no tienen por qué fundirse. Un

fusible fundido suele indicar sobrecarga o fallo. Para sustituirlo,

desconecte el cable de corriente, extraiga el módulo de fusibles con un

pequeño destornillador plano y reponga el fusible inservible.

Consulte la página de especificaciones (8) para más información sobre

los fusibles.

SI UN FUSIBLE SE FUNDE AL ENCENDER LA UNIDAD ES INDICATIVO

Ajustes Pasivos

Integración del Subwoofer

Cableado

El Subwoofer iKEY Audio incluye un crossover y un amplificador incorpo-

rado, de modo que sólo necesitará los cables para integrarlo en su sis-

tema de monitorización existente. En primer lugar, necesitará conectar un

par de cables de las salidas para monitor estéreo de su consola o mesa

de mezclas a las entradas Canon o jack del subwoofer.

A continuación, si está utilizando el filtro interno de paso alto de 80 Hz

que el subwoofer lleva incorporado para los monitores de rango com-

pleto (la mayoría de los usuarios lo hacen), lleve un cable de las conex-

iones jack de salida del subwoofer a las entradas de nivel de línea de

los altavoces de rango completo.

CONTROL DEL SISTEMA/

DISPOSICIÓN DE LOS ALTAVOCES

Volumen del Sistema

La sensibilidad de la entrada se ajusta a través del control de ganancia

localizado en el panel trasero (en sentido contrario a las agujas del

reloj, se reduce sensibilidad). El rango de ajuste va de -80dB a +6dB, lo

cual debería ser suficiente para la mayoría de las condiciones. Este con-

trol se usaría, por ejemplo, en un sistema surround en el que se tuvieran

que equilibrar niveles o cuando la señal que se le envía es excesiva e

inmodificable.

Disposición de los altavoces

Posicionar correctamente los monitores de su estudio es fundamental

para obtener el mejor rendimiento. Normalmente, deben colocarse de

forma que la posición de escucha esté totalmente “cubierta”, con todos

los altavoces situados en el mismo plano horizontal. Una buena manera

de probar un monitor es reproduciendo un CD o DVD que esté grabado

en acústico y en estéreo. Recomendamos la música acústica porque rep-

resenta el espectro del sonido. Puede ajustar el ángulo de cada monitor

buscando zonas muertas. Recuerde que cambiar el ángulo o la posición

de un monitor alterará el sonido.

Ajuste HF (alta frecuencia)

El Ajuste de Altas Frecuencias es un selector de cuatro posiciones ubica-

do también en el panel trasero. El rango del control es de +1dB, plano

(flat), -1dB o -2dB, para frecuencias superiores a 2khz. El monitor iKEY

Audio viene de fábrica ajustado a “plano” (selector en posición 0dB). La

acústica de la sala determinará el tipo de ajuste necesario para lograr

una respuesta plana del monitor.

Crossover

Este control ajusta la frecuencia lindar del crossover variable

octavas/24dB integrado. El lindar del crossover puede ajustarse entre

50 y 110 Hz. Las frecuencias inferiores a este umbral se envían al sub-

woofer, mientras que las que superan este valor se desvían a las SALI-

DAS LEFT (izquierda) y RIGHT (derecha), que estarán conectados a los

altavoces satélite principales. Configure la frecuencia de crossover al

valor más bajo que ofrezcan los altavoces satélite principales.

Fase

Este selector invierte la polaridad de la señal dirigida al amplificador

del subwoofer. Esta función no tiene efecto alguno sobre la señal de las

salidas izquierda y derecha del subwoofer, ni sobre la salida máster

(MASTER OUT). No hay posición correcta ni equivocada para este selec-

tor. Sólo escuche cómo suena el subwoofer con respecto al resto del sis-

tema y quédese con la selección que proporcione el mejor sonido.

Autoencendido

Si se sitúa en la posición AUTO, el subwoofer pasará a modo STANDBY

(silencio) si permanece inactivo durante más de 45 minutos, y se reactiva

en cuanto recibe nueva señal de sonido. Si se deja en ON permanecerá

encendido constantemente. La posición OFF es la que permite encender-

los manualmente a través del interruptor.

LED de pico

El LED de pico (peak) se iluminará siempre que los canales de entrada

sufran una sobrecarga.

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

PROBLEMA: SI NO LLEGA CORRIENTE AL MONITOR, COMPRUEBE...

• Que el cable de corriente está conectado en sus dos extremos, es

decir, tanto al enchufe de la pared como a la entrada de corriente de

la unidad.

• Si el monitor sigue sin responder,

deberá llevarlo al distribuidor iKEY

Audio para su revisión.

PROBLEMA: HA CAMBIADO LA

CALIDAD DE SONIDO.

• Que el voltaje del recinto coincide con el que está seleccionado en la

unidad (véase Cambio de Voltaje en la página 5). Si el voltaje del edi-

ficio es superior al seleccionado en el monitor iKEY AUDIO, es posible

que funda un fusible y tenga que reemplazarlo (véase Cambio de

Fusibles en la página 5).

• Repita los pasos de los puntos anteriores antes de proceder con los

siguientes.

• Desconecte el cable de señal de sonido de la entrada del monitor. Con

la unidad encendida, coloque su oído cerca de cada cono (tweeter, o

altavoz de agudos/woofer, o altavoz de graves) y compruebe si oye

algún ruido (un suave siseo o soplo). Si no oye ningún ruido en absoluto,

podría deberse a que uno o más conos emisores falla (el woofer, el

tweeter o ambos). También es posible que el problema se encuentre en

la parte electrónica.

• Que la luz de encendido está iluminada en el panel frontal del iKEY

Audio. Si no es así, coloque el botón de encendido en OFF y compruebe

los fusibles. ¡NUNCA USE UNOS FUSIBLES DE UN AMPERAJE MAYOR AL

ESPECIFICADO! Vuelva a encender el aparato. La luz de encendido

debería iluminarse.

• Si ha sido necesario cambiar un fusible o dos, y al encender la unidad,

éstos vuelven a fundirse, deberá llevar el monitor al distribuidor autor-

izado donde lo adquirió para someterlo a una revisión exhaustiva.

• Reproduzca algo de música no distorsionada a un volumen bajo. Cubra

el tweeter para bloquear su sonido, con cuidado de no tocar el diafrag-

ma. ¿Produce el woofer un sonido claro? Si éste no ofrece una calidad

clara o permanece en silencio, probablemente deberá cambiarse el

woofer.

PROBLEMA: SI NO PERCIBE NINGÚN SONIDO...

• Repita los pasos de los puntos anteriores antes de proceder con los

siguientes.

• Cubra el woofer para bloquear su sonido, con cuidado de no tocar el

diafragma. ¿Produce el tweeter un sonido claro? En caso negativo, prob-

ablemente deberá cambiarse el tweeter.

• Compruebe que el enchufe de la pared tiene corriente enchufando

otros aparatos.

• Ahora que ya tiene alguna pista de dónde puede estar el fallo, llá-

menos y contacte con un operador del servicio técnico, quien le ayudará

a determinar la mejor solución para sus monitores.

• ASEGÚRESE DE QUE:

• El cable que proporciona el sonido está conectado tanto a la salida de

la fuente de audio como a la entrada del monitor.

PROBLEMA: EL MONITOR SISEA, SOPLA O HACE ALGÚN RUIDO

EXTRAÑO.

• El selector de ganancia está en el valor máximo (+6 dB).

• La fuente de la señal (P.ej. mesa de mezclas, ordenador, lector de CD,

etc.) está encendida y fijada a un nivel que pueda enviar señal correc-

tamente a los monitores.

A continuación se ofrecen algunas sugerencias sobre cómo eliminar estos

ruidos indeseables:

• Asegúrese de que el cable de corriente está bien conectado al

enchufe y a la entrada de corriente del monitor.

• Si uno de los monitores funciona, intercambie el cable de entrada de

sonido de la unidad que no funciona a la que sí funciona. Esto determi-

nará si el fallo se encuentra en el monitor, en el cable o en otro punto

de la cadena.

• Compruebe las conexiones entre la fuente de señal y el monitor. Los

conectores Canon y jack del iKEY Audio están totalmente balanceados.

Si conecta una fuente no balanceada al monitor, asegúrese que usa el

pivote 2 (PIN 2) para la señal y que los pivotes 1 y 3 están unidos en el

extremo del cable.

• Si el monitor sigue sin responder, debería llevarse al distribuidor auto-

rizado para su reparación.

PROBLEMA: SI EL MONITOR SE DETIENE REPENTINAMENTE...

• Baje el volumen al mínimo.

• Consulte la sección de Conexión del Sistema en la página 4 de este

manual para asegurarse de que el voltaje del edificio coincide con el

seleccionado en la unidad.

• Repita los pasos de los puntos anteriores antes de proceder con los

siguientes.

• Todos los equipos de sonido deben utilizar la misma toma de tierra.

Compruebe otros aparatos que usan la misma fuente de corriente del

edificio, como dimmers, rótulos de neón, pantallas de TV y monitores de

ordenador. Estos aparatos no deberían usar el mismo circuito eléctrico.

• Compruebe con cuidado si la tapa posterior del amplificador está

caliente (puede quemar). Si el monitor ha estado funcionando a su máxi-

ma potencia durante mucho tiempo, podría suceder que la unidad se

haya sobrecalentado y los circuitos de protección hayan apagado el

aparato momentáneamente. El monitor IKEY Audio posee la máxima

protección frente a subidas de tensión, sobrecargas y sobrecalentamien-

tos de los amplificadores. Deberá apagar completamente el monitor y

MISE EN GARDE & CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ

risque de parasites électromagnétiques avec un

poste radio ou TV, veuillez utiliser des cordons blind-

destiné à attirer votre attention durant l'utilisation

de votre appareil ou d'un entretien périodique de

ce dernier. Vous en trouverez plusieurs dans le mode

NETTOYAGE: L'appareil doit être nettoyé avec un

chiffon légèrement humide. Ne pas utiliser de pro-

duits chimiques corrosifs & volatiles (cire, essence,

insecticide…) afin de ne pas endommager l'ap-

pareil.

CORDON: Ne pas utiliser de cordons non précon-

isés par le fabricant afin de ne pas endommager

l'appareil.

EAU & HUMIDITE: Ne pas utiliser l'appareil à prox-

imité d'une source d'eau (cuisine, salle de bain,

lavabo…), ni dans un endroit sujet à l'humidité

(piscine…).

ACCESSOIRES: Ne pas installer cet appareil sur un

support ou dans un endroit instable. L'appareil

pourrait tomber au risque de blesser une personne

et être endommagé. Veiller à utiliser des accessoires

(Pied, support, crochet..) recommandés par le four-

nisseur ou vendu avec l'appareil. Tout montage ou

installation doit respecter les instructions du fabri-

cant et utiliser des accessoires d'installation recom-

mandés par le fabricant.

TRANSPORT SUR CHARIOT: Tout produit installé

sur un chariot doit être manipulé avec précaution.

Un déplacement brusque ou trop rapide sur une sur-

PANNE/SITUATION NECESSITANT UN RETOUR

EN SAV: Débranchez l'appareil de la prise élec-

trique, remettez le dans son emballage d'origine et

contactez votre revendeur en tenant compte des sit-

uations suivantes :

- Lorsque le cordon d'alimentation est endom-

magé.

ALIMENTATION: Veillez à respecter la tension d'al-

imentation située au dos de l'appareil. Si vous n'êtes

pas certain de la tension d'utilisation dans votre

pays, contactez votre revendeur.

EMPLACEMENT: Veillez à installer l'appareil sur un

support stable.

PERIODE DE NON UTILISATION: Débranchez le

cordon d'alimentation de l'appareil en cas de non

utilisation prolongée.

MISE A LA TERRE:

- Si l'appareil est équipé d'une alimentation à

courant alternatif (Prise possédant un contact plus

large que l'autre), celle-ci se connectera correcte-

ment à la prise uniquement si vous respectez le sens

de branchement. Il s'agit là d'une mesure de sécu-

rité. Si vous n'arrivez pas à insérer la fiche dans la

prise, inversez la fiche. Si vous ne pouvez toujours

pas insérer cette dernière, contactez un électricien

afin de remplacer votre prise électrique qui est

obsolète. Veillez à respecter cette consigne.

- Si l'appareil est équipé d'une fiche d'alimenta-

tion avec terre, veillez à la connecter à une prise

électrique équipée d'une connexion à la terre. Il

s'agit d'une mesure de sécurité. Si vous ne pouvez

insérer la fiche dans la prise électrique, contactez un

électricien afin de remplacer votre prise électrique

qui est obsolète. Il est important de respecter cette

mesure de sécurité.

INSTALLATION DU CORDON D'ALIMENTATION:

Les cordons d'alimentation doivent être déroulés et

rangés proprement afin d'éviter de se prendre les

pieds dedans, en particulier les cordons reliés aux

prises électriques.

ANTENNE EXTERIEURE: Si vous reliez votre

appareil à une antenne ou un câble extérieur,

assurez-vous de la présence d'une connexion à la

terre afin d'éviter les surtensions et les décharges

d'électricité statique. L'article 810 du National

Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPAS 70, précise toutes les

informations nécessaires afin d'effectuer correcte-

ment le branchement à la terre du pylône ou de la

structure porteuse, la connexion du câble à l'antenne

de décharge, dimensions des connecteurs de mise à

la terre, connexions des électrodes, consignes de

mise à la terre des électrodes. VOIR SCHÉMA B.

- Si un liquide a été renversé dessus.

- Si l'appareil a été exposé à la pluie.

- Si l'appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement mal-

gré le respect des instructions d'utilisation. Ajustez

uniquement les réglages préconisés dans le mode

d'emploi, toute manipulation ou réglage non conseil-

lés dans ce dernier peut endommager l'appareil et

procurer plus de travail en cas d'intervention SAV

afin de remettre l'appareil en état de marche.

PIECES DE RECHANGE: Lorsque vous avez besoin

de remplacer des pièces de l'appareil, veillez à

utiliser des pièces d'origine ou possédant des carac-

téristiques identiques. L'utilisation de pièces non

autorisées peut endommager l'appareil

chauffe, court-circuit, choc électrique…

CONTROLE DE SECURITE: Avant de récupérer

votre appareil, assurez vous que le SAV a effectué

tous les contrôles de sécurité nécessaires afin de

vous restituer un appareil en état de marche.

INSTALLATION AU PLAFOND OU SUR UN MUR:

Ce type d'installation est déconseillé.

CHALEUR: Veillez à installer l'appareil loin de toute

source de chaleur telle que radiateur, réchaud ou

tout autre appareil produisant de la chaleur.

RECYCLAGE: Cet appareil ne doit pas être consid-

éré comme un déchet domestique à usage unique.

Vous devez le déposer dans un point de collecte

destiné au recyclage des appareils électroniques et

électroménagers. AInsi vous préserverez l'environ-

nement et éviterez les problêmes de santé publique

vis à vis de conséquences négatives; liées à leur

dépôt dans un endroit non approprié. Le recyclage

contribue à préserver les ressources naturelles. Pour

plus d'informations sur les conditions de recyclage

de l'appareil, veuillez contacter les autorités de

votre pays, les institutions locales ou votre reven-

deur.

ORAGE/FOUDRE: En cas d'orage et de non utilisa-

tion prolongée, débranchez le cordon d'alimenta-

tion, le câble d'antenne et les cordons audio. Ceci

afin d'éviter les dégâts occasionnés par la foudre et

les surcharges électriques.

LIGNES ELECTRIQUES: Une antenne extérieure ne

doit pas être située à proximité immédiate de lignes

électriques et/ou d'un transformateur électrique,

afin de ne pas tomber dessus en cas de chute. Lors

de l'installation d'une antenne extérieure, veillez à

éviter tout contact avec des lignes électriques : tout

contact peut être fatal.

SURCHARGE: Ne surchargez pas les prises élec-

triques, blocs multiprises & rallonges en y connectant

trop d'appareils. Ceci afin d'éviter tout risque de

surcharge électrique ou d'incendie (Surchauffe).

INSERTION D'OBJET & DE LIQUIDE: N'insérez pas

d'objets dans les fentes ou ouvertures de l'appareil

VENTILATION: Les ouvertures et ouïes d'aération

situées sur l'appareil permettent une ventilation

optimale de ce dernier afin d'éviter toute sur-

chauffe. Ces ouvertures ne doivent jamais être

obstruées. Ne pas placer l'appareil sur un support

souple risquant de bloquer les ouïes d'aération (Lit,

sofa, canapé…). Si l'appareil est intégré dans une

installation ou dans un rack, veillez à la ventilation

Mise sous tension

Par ailleurs, si vous utilisez des mon-

itors passifs (non amplifies), qui

nécessitent donc un amplificateur

Toutes les connexions doivent être faites avec tous les fader de contrôle

Modifications du voltage

Pour modifier le voltage, débranchez le câble électrique et déplacez le

bouton de sélection sur le voltage désiré (Cela dépend du pays où vous

vous trouvez). Veuillez noter qu'une telle modification implique le change-

ment du fusible (Cf. ci-dessous, la section concernant le changement des

fusibles)

Configuration type

REMPLACEMENT DU FUSIBLE:

Lors d'une utilisation normale, les fusibles ne doivent pas sauter. Un

fusible ayant sauté témoigne d'une surcharge électronique ou d'un

défaut de construction. Pour changer le fusible, à l'aide d'un petit

tournevis plat dévissez le câble d'alimentation et la boîte à fusible, puis

changez le fusible.

Câblage du subwoofer

Branchements

Le subwoofer iKEY comprend un filtre actif et un amplificateur interne, ce

afin que vous n'ayez besoin que d'un cablage classique pour l'intégrer à

votre système audio existant. Premièrement, il vous faut câbler la sortie "

stéréo monitor " de votre table de mixage ou console DJ jusqu'aux

entrées XLR ou Jack du subwoofer.

Puis, si vous souhaitez utiliser le filtre interne 80 hz passe-haut monté

d'origine sur le subwoofer pour les monitors principaux (Cas le plus

fréquent), câblez les sorties Jack (Outputs) de votre subwoofer aux

entrées de vos monitors.

UTILISATION/

PLACEMENT DES MONITORS

Volume

Le niveau d'entrée s'ajuste à l'aide de contrôle de gain situé à l'arrière

de l'appareil (Tournez le bouton dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une

montre afin de réduire la sensibilité). La plage de correction du niveau

d'entrée s'étend de -80 db à + 6db, ce qui couvrira la majorité des

applications. Cet ajustement n'intervient que dans le cas où vous utilisez

un système surround où vous devez ajuster le niveau trop présent de

votre subwoofer.

Placement des monitors

Un positionnement adéquat de vos monitors est indispensable pour le stu-

dio. Le but est de les placer d'une façon telle que la place depuis laque-

lle vous écouterez soit pleinement "couverte", face à des monitors se situ-

ant sur un même plan horizontal. Un bon moyen de tester l'étendue des

possibilités d'un monitor est d'écouter un CD ou un DVD enregistré en

stéréo. La musique acoustique restituera le plus large spectre de

fréquences. Vous pouvez ajuster l'angle de chacun des monitors en

écoutant la musique depuis les angles morts de votre pièce. Gardez en

mémoire que l'angle d'inclinaison de vos monitors modifiera le son.

Ajustement des fréquences

L'ajustement des hautes fréquences se fait à l'aide du contrôle rotatif à

quatre positions situé à l'arrière de l'appareil. Les quatre plages d'a-

justement correspondent à +1db, réponse plate (0dB), -1db et -2db

avec une bosse de fréquence à 2khz. D'origine vos Monitors actifs iKEY

Audio ont une réponse plate (Sur la position 0db). Il est possible que l'a-

coustique de la pièce détermine le type d'ajustement à sélectionner afin

d'obtenir un son droit de la part de vos monitors.

Fréquence de coupure

Ceci ajuste la fréquence de coupure du filtre actif interne ( pente de

24dB/Octave). La fréquence du filtre actif peut être ajustée de 50hz à

110hz. Les fréquences se situant en deçà de ce réglage seront diffusées

par le subwoofer, celles qui le dépassent seront envoyées vers les sorties

" LEFT OUTPUT " et " RIGHT OUTPUT ", câblées aux monitors principaux.

Ajustez la fréquence de coupure du filtre à la réponse en fréquence la

plus basse de vos monitors principaux.

Phase

Ce bouton inverse la polarité du signal d'entrée du subvwoofer actif et

n'a aucune incidence sur le signal des sorties LEFT et RIGHT Output ainsi

que MASTER Output. Il n’existe pas de position pré-définie pour ce

réglage, seule une écoute attentive de votre système vous indiquera

quelle position du bouton apporte le meilleur son.

Mode: Auto Power

Si le subwoofer est calibré sur la position AUTO, celui-ci se mettra

automatiquement en mode " STANDBY " (Silence) au bout de 45 minutes

de non-activité et reprendra instantanément dès réception d'un signal. Si

le subwoofer est calibré sur la position ON, il restera en marche conti-

nue, si la position est sur OFF vous utiliserez le bouton de mise en marche

pour l'éteindre manuellement.

Témoin de saturation

Le témoin LED "Peak" s'allumera lors d'une surcharge du niveau en

entrée.

Problèmes et solutions

PROBLEME: S’IL N’Y A PAS DE COURANT, VERIFIEZ SI…

* Le câble d'alimentation est bien branché dans son emplacement dédié,

situé à l'arrière de l'appareil, ainsi que dans la prise électrique murale.

* Le voltage de la prise murale est adapté au matériel (Cf. p.5 Section :

changement de voltage lors du branchement du système). Si le voltage

est supérieur à celui de votre matériel iKEY AUDIO, il est possible que le

fusible saute et soit à remplacer (cf. p.5 Section : remplacement du

fusible lors du branchement du système)

PROBLEME: LE MONITOR SIFFLE, RONFLE OU EMET D'AUTRES BRUITS

PROBLEME: AUCUN SON NE SORT

* Répétez les étapes de la section précédente avant d'envisager celles

ci-dessous.

Voici quelques suggestions susceptibles de vous aider à éliminer ces

problèmes :

* Vérifez si tous les autres appareils connectés électriquement fonction-

nent correctement.

* Assurez-vous que le câble est correctement branché au fond de son

logement à l'arrière du monitor.

* Assurez-vous que:

* Les cordons de sortie audio de votre source soient correctement

branchés aux entrées du monitor.

* Le contrôle de niveau d'entrée soit tourné au maximum dans le sens

des aiguilles d'une montre (+6db).

* Vérifiez les connexions qui relient la source au monitor. Les connec-

tiques XLR et JACK de votre système iKEY Audio sont complètement

symétriques. Si vous y branchez une source assymétrique, assurez-vous

que, côté source, la soudure soit : signal sur PIN 2, PIN 1 et PIN 3 ensem-

ble.

* Le signal audio de la source (Console de mixage, synthétiseur, platine

CD, etc.) soit d'un niveau suffisant pour les monitors.

* Si un seul des deux monitors fonctionne. Intervertissez votre câblage

afin de déterminer s'il s'agit bien d'une panne concernant le matériel lui-

même ou bien si le câblage est en cause.

* Si le monitor reste malgré tout muet, celui-ci doit être retourné au dis-

tributeur iKEY AUDIO auprès duquel vous avez effectué votre achat ou

bien au SAV de GCI technologies.

* Cf. p.4, Section Câblage du système, pour vous assurer de la concor-

dance de votre système et du courant électrique.

* T ous les équipements utilisent la même prise de terre. Vérifiez tous les

autres appareils électriques branchés sur le secteur, tels que gradateurs

électriques, enseignes néons, écrans de TV ou informatique. Tous ces

appareils ne doivent pas être reliés au même circuit électrique que votre

système audio.

PROBLÈME: SI LE MONITOR CESSE BRUSQUEMENT LA DIFFUSION…

* Répétez les étapes de la section précédente avant d'envisager celles

ci-dessous.

* Vérifiez précautionneusement si la face arrière de l'amplificateur est

chaude ! Si le monitor a été soumis à une utilisation prolongée à un fort

niveau, il se peut que votre matériel ait subi une surchauffe et que le cir-

cuit de protection ait coupé momentanément la diffusion. Le matériel

iKEY AUDIO dispose d'un maximum de ces circuits de protection afin

d'éviter toute surtension électrique, surcharge du niveau d'entrée ou sur-

chauffe de l'amplificateur. Eteignez votre système pendant 30 minutes

jusqu'à ce que la plaque arrière soit à nouveau froide. Vous pouvez

alors rallumer votre matériel.

* Augmentez le volume afin de vérifier si tout fonctionne correctement.

* Si le monitor reste malgré tout muet, celui-ci doit être retourné au dis-

tributeur iKEY AUDIO aurès duquel vous avez fait votre achat ou bien au

SAV de GCI technologies.

PROBLÈME: LA QUALITÉ DU SON S'ALTÈRE…

* Répétez les étapes de la section précédente avant d'envisager celles

ci-dessous.

* Débranchez le câble de liaison de l'entrée des monitors. Alors que

l'appareil est sous tension, positionnez votre oreille contre chaque haut-

parleur (Tweeter/Woofer) et écoutez tout bruit (I.e. sifflement ou ronfle-

ment). Si aucun son ne veut décidément sortir, c'est que tweeter et/ou

woofer sont défectueux. Il est également possible qu'il s'agisse d'un

STROMANSCHLUSS: Dieses Produkt darf nur mit dem

- Wenn dieses Produkt mit einem geerdeten dreipoli-

gen Stecker ausgestattet ist, hat der Stecker einen

dritten (Erdungs-)Kontakt und passt nur in eine

Steckdose mit entsprechender Erdung. Auch das ist ein

Sicherheitsmerkmal. Sollte der Stecker nicht in die

Steckdose passen, beauftragen Sie einen Elektriker,

um diese veraltete Steckdose auszutauschen.

SCHUTZ DES STROMKABELS: Stromkabel sollten so

verlegt werden, dass man nicht auf sie treten kann,

noch dass sie von darauf stehenden oder gegen sie

stoßenden Gegenständen gequetscht werden. Achten

Sie besonders auf Kanten, Sicherung, Stecker und

Buchsen.

AUSSENANTENNENERDUNG: Wenn Sie eine

Außenantenne oder ein Radio-/Fernsehkabelsignal an

das Produkt anschließen, achten Sie darauf, dass die

Antenne oder das Kabel geerdet sind, um dafür zu

sorgen, dass Überspannungen und elektrostatische

Aufladungen nicht auftreten können. Im Artikel 810

des National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, finden

Sie Informationen über die richtige Erdung des

Antennenmasts und weitere Informationen zu diesem

Thema. (SIEHE AUCH FIG. B).

GEWITTER: Trennen Sie das Produkt während eines

Gewitters oder wenn es unbeaufsichtigt ist oder wenn

es für eine lange Zeit nicht benutzt wird, durch her-

ausziehen des Stromkabels aus der Netzdose. Trennen

ANSCHLÜSSE

Einschalten

Bevor Sie Ihre iKEY AUDIO Monitore einschalten, sollten alle

Verbindungen hergestellt und alle Regler auf dem minimalen Wert sein.

Andernfalls, wenn Sie passive Monitore (die einen externen Verstärker

benötigen) einsetzen, verbinden Sie die beiden Subwooferausgänge mit

den Line Eingängen des externen Verstärkers. Schließen Sie die passiven

Lautsprecher wie gewohnt an Ihren Verstärker an.

Der Ein-/Aus Schalter befindet sich auf der Rückseite und eine rote LED

auf der Vorderseite hinter dem iKEY AUDIO Logo leuchet auf, sobald

der Monitor eingeschaltet ist.

VERSUCHEN SIE NICHT, DEN SPEAKER AUSGANG DES

MONITORVERSTÄRKERS AN DEN EINGANG DES SUBWOOFERS

ANZUSCHLIEßEN, DA DIES ZU SCHWEREN SCHÄDEN AM EQUIPMENT

FÜHREN KANN.

Spannung ändern

Um die Spannung zu ändern, entfernen Sie das Netzkabel aus der

Netzbuchse und schieben den Spannungswahlschalter auf den gewünscht-

en Wert. Beachten Sie, dass Sie die Sicherung austauschen müssen (Siehe

unten), wenn Sie die Spannung ändern.

Typisches Setup

SICHERUNG TAUSCHEN

Unter normalen Betriebsbedingungen sollte die Sicherung nicht durch-

brennen. Eine durchgebrannte Sicherung weist meistens auf eine Überlast

oder einen Fehler hin. Um die Sicherung zu tauschen, entfernen Sie das

Netzkabel und stemmen den Sicherungsblock mit einem schmalen flachen

Schraubendreher heraus. Jetzt können Sie die Sicherung tauschen.

Schauen Sie in den Technischen Daten auf Seite 8 nach den benötigten

Sicherungswerten.

Passives Setup

Verkabelung

Der iKEY Subwoofer verfügt neben dem integrierten Verstärker auch

über eine Frequenzweiche, sodass Sie ihn mit den passenden

Verbindungskabeln einfach in ein bestehendes Monitorsystem integrieren

können. Zuerst müssen Sie die Stereomonitorausgänge Ihres Mischpults

mit den XLR- oder Klinkeneingängen des Subwoofers verbinden.

Danach, wenn Sie den Subwoofer mit seinem internen 80 Hz High-pass

Filter mit bestehenden aktiven Full-range Monitoren (wie in den meisten

Fällen) verwenden, verbinden Sie die 6,3 mm Klinkenausgänge des

Subwoofers mit den Line Eingängen Ihrer Full-range Monitore.

LAUTSPRECHER AUFSTELLUNG

Gesamtlautstärke

Mit dem rückseitigen System Lautstärkeregler stellen Sie die Eingangs-

empfindlichkeit ein. Der Regelbereich von - 80 db bis zu + 6 db sollte

für die meisten Anwendungen ausreichen. Normalerweise müssen Sie

Veränderungen nur vornehmen, wenn Sie Ihren Monitor in einem Sur-

roundsystem verwenden wollen, um die einzelnen Boxen aneinander an-

zupassen oder wenn Sie ein zu lautes Monitorsignal nicht regeln können.

Lautsprecheraufstellung

Die richtige Aufstellung der Monitore ist sehr wichtig für eine optimale

Wiedergabe. Typerischerweise sollten Sie so angeordnet werden, dass

die Hörposition von allen Monitoren gleichmäßig auf einer horizontalen

Ebene versorgt wird. Eine gute Methode, um die Aufstellung zu über-

prüfen ist das Abspielen einer CD oder DVD mit in Stereo aufgenommen-

er akustischer Musik. Wir empfehlen akustische Musik, weil Sie das

mögliche Klangspektrum besser repräsentiert. Nun können Sie den

Winkel der Monitore verändern, bis Sie an Ihrer Hörposition ein ausge-

wogenes Stereoklangbild hören.

Hochtonbereich einstellen

Sie können den Hochtonbereich mit dem rückseitigen 4-fach Drehschalter

anpassen. Dieser bietet die folgenden Einstellungen: +1db, flach, -1db

oder -2db Absenkung bei 2khz. Werkseitig ist die Einstellung “flach”

(Schalter ist inder 0 db Position) gewählt. Die richtige Einstellung für

einen glatten Frequenzgang hängt von der Raumakustik ab.

Trennfrequenz

Hier können Sie die Trennfrequenz der eingebauten 24 dB/Oktave

Frequenzweiche zwischen 50 Hz und 110 Hz einstellen. Frequenzen

unterhalb dieses Werts werden an einen Subwoofer ausgegeben,

Frequenzen oberhalb an die Ausgänge LEFT und RIGHT, an denen die

Hauptmonitore angeschlossen sind. Stellen Sie die Trennfrequenz so ein,

dass Sie der untersten von Ihrem Monitor wiedergegebenen entspricht.

Phase

Mit diesem Schalter können Sie die Phasenlage des Signal, das an den

Subwoofer gesendet wird, um 180 Grad drehen. Die Signale für die

Ausgänge LEFT, RIGHT oder MASTER sind davon unbeeinflusst. Da es

keine eindeutige richtige oder falsche Stellung für diesen Schalter gibt,

sollten Sie die Position wählen, bei der der Subwoofer am besten mit den

beiden anderen Monitoren klingt.

Auto Power

Befindet sich der AUTO Schalter in der Position ON, wechselt der

Subwoofer, nachdem er 45 Minuten kein Signal empfangen hat, in den

STANDBY Modus (Stumm). Sobald ein Signal anliegt, ist der Subwoofer

sofort wieder betriebsbereit. In der Position OFF können Sie den

Subwoofer manuell ausschalten.

Übersteuerungsanzeige

Die Übersteuerungs LED leuchtet auf, wenn die Eingangskanäle über-

steuern.

PROBLEM: WENN SIE KEINE STROMVERSORGUNG HABEN, PRÜFEN

• ob das Netzkabel richtig in die rückseitige Netzbuchse und die

Wandsteckdose gesteckt ist

• Wiederholen Sie die Schritte in

den vorherigen Abschnitten, bevor

• Ob der Spannungswahlschalter in der richtigen Stellung für Ihre

Spannungsversorgung steht (Siehe Seite 5). Sollte die

ganz nah an jeden Lautsprecher (Woofer und Tweeter) und hören, ob Sie

ein leises zischen oder brummen hören. Wenn Sie absolut nichts hören,

kann es sein, dass einer oder mehrere Lautsprecher defekt sind. Der

Fehler kann aber auch in der Elektronik des Monitors liegen.

• ob die LED Betriebsanzeige auf der Vorderseite leuchet. Falls nein,

schalten Sie den Monitor aus und überprüfen und tauschen ggf. die

Netzsicherung. VERWENDEN SIE JEDOCH NIEMALS EINE SICHERUNG MIT

EINER HÖHEREN AMPEREZAHL, ALS VORGEGEBEN. Schalten Sie den

Monitor wieder ein. Die LED Betriebsanzeige sollte jetzt leuchten.

• Geben Sie ein leises und nicht verzerrtes Signal mit dem Monitor

wieder. Bedecken Sie jetzt vorsichtig den Tweeter (ohne ihn zuberühren).

Produziert der Woofer einen sauberen Klang? Ist dem nicht so, muss der

Woofer warscheinlich ausgetauscht werden.

• Wenn Sie die Sicherung tauschen mussten und diese beim Einschalten

des Monitors erneut durchbrennt, setzen Sie sich mit Ihrem iKEY AUDIO

Händler in Verbindung.

• Wenn Sie den Woofer vorsichtig abdecken (ohne ihn zu berühren), kön-

nen Sie überprüfen, ob der Tweeter einen sauberen Klang produziert. Ist

dem nicht so, muss der Tweeter warscheinlich ausgetauscht werden.

PROBLEM: WENN SIE NICHTS HÖREN ...

• Wiederholen Sie die Schritte in den vorherigen Abschnitten, bevor Sie

zum nächsten Schritt gehen.

• Sollte Ihnen eine andere Fehlerursache einfallen, setzen Sie sich mit

Ihrem Händler oder uns in Verbindung.

So kann ihnen umgehend geholfen werden.

• Überprüfen Sie, ob alle anderen an diesem Stromkreis angeschlossenen PROBLEM: DER MONITOR ZISCHT, BRUMMT ODER MACHT ANDERE

Geräte noch funktionieren.

GERÄUSCHE ...

Einige Vorschläge, wie Sie Störgeräusche verhindern können:

• STELLEN SIE SICHER, DASS:

• Das Audioverbindungskabel sowohl im Ausgang als auch im

Monitoreingang sicher steckt.

• Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Netzkabel sicher in der rückseitigen

Netzbuchse steckt.

• Der System Lautstärkeregler ausreichend aufgedreht ist.

• Überprüfen Sie die Verbindung zwischen Signalquelle und dem

Monitor. Die XLR- und Klinkenanschlüsse sind bei den iKEY AUDIO

Monitoren komplett symmetrisch Wenn Sie einen unsymmetrischen

Ausgang mit dem Monitor verbinden, stellen Sie sicher, dass PIN 2 für

das Signal verwendet wird und PIN 1 und PIN 3 verbunden sind.

• Die Signalquellen (z.B. Mischpult, Workstation, CD Player o.a.) einen

Pegel hat, der für die Arbeit mit einem Monitor ausreicht.

• Falls nur einer der Monitore arbeitet, tauschen Sie das Audiokabel des

nicht arbeitenden Monitors mit dem, der funktioniert. So stellen Sie sicher,

dass der Fehler nicht an einem defekten Kabel liegen kann.

• Schauen Sie, wie auf Seite 4 dieser Anleitung beschrieben, nach, ob

der Spannungswahlschalter in der richtigen Position ist.

• Sollte der Monitor noch immer nicht reagieren, setzen Sie sich mit Ihrem

iKEY AUDIO Händler in Verbindung.

• Alle Audiogeräte sollten den gleichen Erdungspunkt nutzen. Überprüfen

Sie alle anderen Geräte wie Dimmer, Neonreklamen, Fernsehgerät und

Computer Monitore, die am gleichen Stromkreis angeschlossen sind. Diese

Geräte sollten über einen separaten Stromkreis angeschlossen werden.

PROBLEM: DER MONITOR HÖRT PLÖTZLICH AUF ZU ARBEITEN...

• Regeln Sie den Monitor Ausgang am Mischpult herunter oder schalten

ihn aus.

• Wiederholen Sie die im vorherigen Abschnitt beschriebenen Schritte,

bevor Sie zum nächsten Schritt gehen.

• Überprüfen Sie vorsichtig, ob die Rückplatte des Verstärkers heiß ist.

Wenn der Monitor über eine längere Zeit mit höchster Leistung gearbeit-

et hat, kann es sein, dass der Monitor überhizt ist und die

Schutzschaltung den Betrieb für einen Moment unterbrochen hat. Der

IKEY AUDIO Monitor bietet Schutzschaltungen gegen

Netzspannungsspitzen, Verstärkerübersteuerungen und Überhitzung des

Verstärkers. Schalten Sie den Monitor aus und warten etwa 30 Minuten,

damit der Monitor abkühlen kann. Schalten Sie den Monitor danach

wieder ein.
