Receiver Battery Installation(Optional)  
Battery Safety Information  
In exceptional circumstances, batteries may leak fluids that can cause  
a chemical burn injury or ruin your product.To avoid battery leakage:  
• Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types:  
alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).  
• Insert batteries as indicated inside the battery compartment.  
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.Always remove  
exhausted batteries from the product. Dispose of batteries safely.  
Do not dispose of this product in a fire.The batteries inside may  
explode or leak.  
• Never short-circuit the battery terminals.  
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.  
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.  
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the product before charging.  
• If removeable, rechargeable batteries are used, they are only to be  
charged under adult supervision.  
Battery Compartment Door  
"AAA" (LR03)  
1.5V x 3  
• Locate battery compartment door on back of receiver.  
• Loosen screw in battery compartment door with a Phillips  
screwdriver. Remove battery compartment door.  
• Insert three "AAA" (LR03) alkaline batteries into the  
battery compartment.  
• Replace battery compartment door.Tighten screw with a  
Phillips screwdriver.  
• Protect the environment by not disposing of this  
product with household waste (2002/96/EC). Check  
your local authority for recycling advice and facilities  
(Europe only).

Testing Sound Reception  
Test transmitter transmission and receiver reception each time you  
change location of use.  
Adjust Channel  
Power Button  
• Place transmitter in room in which you intend to use it.  
• Press transmitter power button to turn power on. Power  
indicator lights.  
• Set transmitter channel switch to same channel as receiver.  
Turn on a radio.  
• Sound lights turn on when sound is received by the receiver.  
- One or two lights for shallow sounds.  
- Three or more lights for louder sounds.  
• If you experience interference (buzzing or static, etc.) while using  
one channel setting, switch all units to other channel. Selecting a  
channel is usually a one time adjustment.  
Hint:You will see all five sound lights:  
- If you turn receiver power on before transmitter power. You will  
also hear static noise.Turn volume down and turn transmitter  
power on.  
- If the receiver is too far away from the transmitter. Move the  
receiver closer to the transmitter.  
- If loud sounds are transmitting.  
Low Battery Indicator  
On/Off/Volume Dial  
• Place the receiver in the room in which you intend to use it.  
• Turn on/off/volume dial to turn power on. Power indicator lights.  
Adjust receiver location for best reception.  
Hint: If battery power is low, the low battery indicator lights.  
Replace batteries with three, new alkaline AAA(LR03) batteries  
or use AC adaptor for power source.

Setup & Use  
IMPORTANT! Test sound reception of this monitor before first time  
use and whenever you change location of transmitter (see page 6).  
Adjust Channel  
• Place receiver where you will see or hear it.  
• Set transmitter channel switch to same channel as  
receiver.  
• Unwrap and fully extend AC adaptor cord for best reception. Insert  
AC adaptor jack into receiver socket and plug into wall outlet. Use  
the AC adaptor only in a wall outlet. Do not plug the AC adaptor  
into a celing outlet.  
Note: To use batteries as a power source, refer to instructions on page 5.  
• Rotate receiver on/off/volume dial to turn power on. Power  
indicator lights. Rotate on/off/volume dial to adjust volume.  
• Place transmitter in same room with child. Point microphone  
directly toward cot or play area.  
• Unwrap and fully extend power cord for best transmission. Plug  
power cord into wall outlet. Use the power cord only in a wall  
outlet. Do not plug the power cord into a ceiling outlet.  
• Press transmitter power button to turn power on.  
• Press night light on transmitter for a soft, glowing light. (Press  
again to turn off night light.)  
• Clip to your clothes to stay in touch with baby!  
Hint: Under permitting conditions, the receiver receives sounds  
up to 120 meters (400 feet) away from baby!

Problems & Solutions  
Problem  
You hear static or buzzing  
Solution  
Receiver is out of range of transmitter. Move receiver closer  
to transmitter.  
Note: Range varies depending on surrounding conditions such  
as noise levels, physical obstructions and signal interference.  
Transmitter power is off. Turn transmitter power on.  
Channel switches are on different channels. Make sure  
channel switches on both transmitter and receiver are  
set to same channel.  
Loose power cord connection and transmitter power is off.  
Check transmitter power cord plug-to-outlet connection.  
No power to wall outlet and transmitter power is off. Make  
sure light switch that controls power flow to wall outlet is on.  
Power is off because circuit breaker for room is off. Make sure  
house fuses and circuit breakers are on.  
Receiver power is off. Turn receiver power on.  
Receiver power indicator does not light  
Batteries in receiver are weak or dead. Replace all batteries  
with three, alkaline “AAA” (LR03) batteries or use AC adaptor  
as power source.  
Power is off because circuit breaker for room is off. Make sure  
house fuses and circuit breakers are on.  
No power to wall outlet and power is off. Make sure light  
switch that controls power flow to wall outlet is on.  
Receiver low battery indicator lights  
Batteries in receiver are weak or dead. Replace all batteries  
with three, alkaline “AAA” (LR03) batteries or use AC adaptor  
as power source.  
Transmitter power indicator does not light  
Transmitter power is off. Turn transmitter power on.  
Loose power cord connection and transmitter power is off.  
Check transmitter power cord plug-to-outlet connection.  
No power to wall outlet and transmitter power is off. Make  
sure light switch that controls power flow to wall outlet is on.  
Power is off because circuit breaker for baby’s room is off.  
Make sure house fuses and circuit breakers are on.  
You can hear conversations or sounds from  
other homes  
There is signal interference due to other nursery monitors on  
same channel or cordless telephone use. Change channel  
switches on both transmitter and receiver to eliminate source  
of interference.  
Hint: If, after checking all of these solutions, you believe that your transmitter power cord or AC adaptor are  
damaged, please contact Mattel.
