Part 1 - Getting Acquainted
This part of the manual provides you with important general information
about your printer.
About This Manual
This manual covers operation of the CW-75 DISC TITLE PRINTER only. For
details about using the label layout software that comes bundled with the
printer, see the User’s Guide on the DISC TITLE PRINTER Application CD-
ROM.
Important!
About the Bundled CD-ROM and CD-R
In this manual, the term “printer” refers to the CASIO CW-75 DISC TITLE
PRINTER.
In this manual, the term “label layout software” refers to the DISC TITLE
PRINTER application.
Note the following precautions whenever handling or storing the bundled CD-
ROM and CD-R.
Handling Precautions
Key Operations
When handling the disc, avoid getting finger smudges, dirt, scratches, etc.
on either of its surfaces.
Required key operations are indicated in text by bold characters or the graphic
image of the applicable key.
Should the disc become dirty, use an eyeglass cleaning cloth or some other
soft cloth to wipe it lightly from the center of the disc outwards towards its
edge. Never use phonograph record cleaner or any other cleaning agent.
Never write on either of the disc’s surfaces with a pen or pencil, or affix a
sticker to the disc surfaces.
Example: Press 1 and then SET.
The symbols x, z, c, and v indicate cursor key operations.
Use of a disc that is cracked or deformed, or a disc that has adhesive on it
is dangerous. Never use such a disc.
Storage Precautions
Avoid storing discs in areas subjected to high temperature, high humidity,
or direct sunlight.
When you are not using a disc, store it in its original case or in a commercially
available CD case.
Avoid storing a disc so its label comes in direct contact with the surface of a
vinyl case, bag, etc.
Warning!
Important!
Never play a CD-ROM disc on any device that is not specifically designed to
play back CD-ROM discs. Audio output at a high volume setting creates the
risk of damaged hearing and damage to audio speakers.
Note that the key markings and display images shown in this manual
may differ somewhat from those on the actual product.

In this manual, the font, bolding, and text alignment are all referred to as
text attributes.
Important!
Text attributes affect printed text only. The characters on the display do
not change.
You can specify a font for all the text or for a specific line of text. You can even
specify a default font that is used automatically whenever you create a new
label.
Whenever you replace a character with another one, the new character
also picks up the attributes of the original character.
The current font setting is indicated by the pointer along the right side of the
display.
Selecting a Font
About SMALL FONT
In addition to the five user-selectable fonts, the printer also has a SMALL
FONT,which is used automatically whenever the character size is 2mm, re-
gardless of the current font setting.
Your printer gives you a choice of the following five fonts.
New Sans-serif (SANS-SERIF)
Note that you cannot select the font size. The printer selects font sizes and the
SMALL FONT setting automatically.
Note
The proportional setting (page 45) is ignored while the SMALL FONT is being
used.

This section contains two procedures for printing labels. The procedure
you should use depends on whether your label has text in both the upper
(Label 1) and lower (Label 2) areas, or if it has text in only one of the areas

Do not try to use this printer to print on a mini CD-R or a CD-R business
card. Doing so can damage the printer. Use the printer to print on 12cm
discs only.
We recommend that you print on a disc or other media before you record
anything on it. Printing on a disc or other media that already has data
recorded on it can cause the data to become corrupted.
This causes the disc tray to open part way.

the CD-ROM for information about using the label layout software.
Make sure that the side of the
connector marked with an
arrow is facing downwards.
