The shape of the decora-   tive hood is not critical. The only place where   the hood liner and outside cover must meet is   at the bottom edge of the liner. The decorative   hood and liner must fit at the bottom edge in   both width and depth.   B HEIGHT OF   TRANSITION   The height of the hood liner does not have to   be the same as the height of the decorative   hood and is generally shorter.   TO CENTER   OF TRANSITION   D C The top depth of the hood liner, which is 12"   (305) standard, must be less than the interior   depth of the decorative hood. Measure the   interior depth of the hood at the top height of   the liner to make sure the liner will fit inside   the decorative hood.   TO CENTER   OF TRANSITION   A WIDTH OF   HOOD LINER   The hood liner comes standard with a 4" (102)   lower reveal. Be sure to include this dimension   in your decorative hood selection.   Pro Hood Liners   Model   (A)   (B)   (C)   (D)   L342212   L402212   L462212   L522212   L582212   343/8" (873)   403/8" (1026)   463/8" (1178)   523/8" (1330)   583/8" (1483)   93/8" (238)   93/8" (238)   93/8" (238)   93/8" (238)   93/8" (238)   173/16" (437)   203/16" (513)   233/16" (589)   263/16" (665)   293/16" (741)   6" (152)   6" (152)   6" (152)   6" (152)   6" (152)   Always use the interior measurements of the   decorative hood and measure in multiple   places. Always   use metal ducting. Do not use flex ducting.   VERTICAL DISCHARGE   12" (305)   HEIGHT OF LINER   HOOD LINER   Decide where the ductwork will run between   the hood liner and the outside. A straight,   short duct run will allow the hood liner to   perform more efficiently. Limit the number of   elbows and transitions to as few as possible.   Long duct runs, elbows and transitions will   reduce the performance of the hood liner. Wolf   recommends the maximum linear duct run be   no greater than 50' (15 m). The Pro hood liner   has a vertical discharge.   1 22 /2" (572)   DEPTH OF LINER   30" TO 36"   (762–914)   COUNTERTOP   TO BOTTOM OF   DECORATIVE HOOD   IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a possibility of   noise issues, if there is a short duct run   coupled with a remote blower.   36" (914)   STANDARD   FLOOR TO   COUNTERTOP   HEIGHT   Always install a roof or wall cap if you are not   installing a remote blower. Connect 10" (254)   round metal ductwork to the cap and work   back towards the hood. Use duct sealing tape   on joints between ductwork sections.   Wolf Pro hood liners come standard with a   backdraft damper included in the transition   assembly. Local codes may require the use of   an additional backdraft damper. Contact your   local HVAC professional for specific require-   ments. In cold weather installations, a back-   draft damper is necessary to minimize the   backflow of cold air into the room.   VERTICAL DISCHARGE ONLY FOR VENTILATION HOOD LINERS.   Ducting for Pro hood liners   To reduce the risk of fire and electric   shock, install this ventilation hood liner   only with a blower manufactured by   Wolf. Blower model numbers are listed   on page 14.   Local building codes may require the use of   make-up air. Consult your local HVAC profes-   sional for specific requirements in your area.   Dimensions in parentheses are in   millimeters unless otherwise specified.   7 Download from Www.Somanuals.com. The transition is   shipped upside down in the top of the hood   liner. It must be removed and reinstalled in   the proper position. Refer to the illustration   on the following page.   Construct the wood wall framing flush with   the wall studs and centered in the location   that the hood liner will be mounted.   Remove the filters by pushing each filter up   at the angle it is placed in, and rotate down.   Remove the center filter first. Gloves should   be worn to provide the proper grip when   removing filters.   Refer to the illustrations below for the location   of mounting holes for Pro hood liners and a   cross-section of a typical installation.   Separate the transition from the top plate   by removing the four shipping screws.
