All Manuals Search And Download.   Installing the Remote Control Holder on the Wall   The rem ote control is supplied w ith a plastic holder that can be fitted   to the w all to hold the rem ote control w hen you are not using it.   To attach the holder to the w all, proceed as follow s.   1 2 3 With a pencil, mark the positions of the two holes on the wall where the   holder is to be installed.   Drill the two holes and insert plugs as required for the type of wall on   which the holder is being installed.   Screw the holder into position.   Result:   You can now slide the remote control in and out of the   holder as required.   Inserting the Remote Control Batteries   You m ust insert or replace the rem ote control batteries w hen:   ◆ You purchase the air conditioner   ◆ The rem ote control does not w ork correctly   Use tw o LR03 AAA 1.5 V batteries. Do not use old batteries   or different kinds of batteries together. All Manuals Search And Download.   Changing the Room Temperature Quickly   The Turbo cooling/ heating function is used to cool or heat your room as   quickly as possible.   Exam ple: You have just com e hom e and find that the room is very   hot. All Manuals Search And Download.   Adjusting the Air Flow Direction Vertically   Depending on the position of the indoor unit on the w all of your   room , you can adjust the position of the outer air flow blade on the   bottom of the unit, thus increasing the efficiency of the air   conditioner.   1 Press the   button under the remote control flap one or more times   as required.   Result: The outer blade is adjusted vertically.   RECOMMENDATION   When...   Cooling   Heating   Adjust the blade to face...   Upwards.   Downwards.   2 3 If you want the blade to move up and down automatically when the air   conditioner is operating, press the button.   Result: The blade move up and down, around the base position set.   To stop the blade moving up and down, press the button again.   Note If you switch the air conditioner... Then the blade is...   Off   Closed completely.   On again   Reset to the position that you   previously selected.   Adjusting the Air Flow Direction Horizontally   There are tw o sets of inner air flow blades. All Manuals Search And Download.   Operating Recommendations   Here are a few recom m endations that you should follow w hen using   your air conditioner.   Topic   Recommendation   Heating performances   The heat pump inside the air conditioner   absorbs heat from outside air and brings it   indoors. If the temperature of the outside air   drops, the air conditioner will heat less. If you   find that the room is not warm enough, use an   additional heating appliance.   Warm air circulation   The air conditioner circulates warm air to heat   your room; as a result, some time will be   required after starting the air conditioner to   warm the entire room. If necessary, set the air   conditioner going a short time before you wish   to use the room.   Frost   When outside temperatures are low and   humidity is high, frost may form in the outdoor   unit when heating with your air conditioner.   If this happens:   ◆ The heating operation is stopped.   ◆ The Deice mode is triggered automatically   for about seven minutes   ◆ The OPERATION indicator on the   indoor unit lights up red   No intervention is required from you; after   about seven minutes, the air conditioner starts   operating again normally.   High indoor and outdoor If both the indoor and outdoor temperatures   temperatures   are high and you select the Heat mode, the   outdoor unit’s fan and compressor may stop at   times. All Manuals Search And Download.   Temperature and Humidity Ranges   The follow ing table indicates the tem perature and hum idity ranges,   w ithin w hich the air conditioner can be used.   If the air conditioner is used at... Then...   High temperatures   Low temperatures   High humidity levels   The automatic protection feature may   be triggered and the air conditioner   stopped.   A water leakage or some other   malfuction may happen because the   heat exchanger freezes.   Water may condense on and drip   from the surface of the indoor unit if it   is used for long periods.   Mode   Outdoor Temperature   Indoor Temperature Indoor Humidity   Heating   Cooling   Drying   0°C to 24°C approx.   21°C to 43°C approx.   18°C to 43°C approx.   27°C or less   18°C to 32°C approx. 80% or less   18°C to 32°C approx.   - - ◆◆ If the heating operation is used at below 0°C(outdoor tem perature)   then, does not a full capacity.   If the cooling operation is used at over 33°C(indoor tem perature)   then, does not a full capacity.   Cleaning Your Air Conditioner   To get the best possible use out of your air conditioner, you m ust   clean it regularly to rem ove the dust that accum ulates on the air filter.   Before cleaning your air conditioner, ensure that you   have sw itched off the breaker used for the unit.   IMPORTANT   1 Open the front grille by pulling on the tabs on the lower right and left   sides of the indoor unit.   2 3 4 Lift out the bottom edge of the air filters and pull down to release them.   Remove all dust on the air filters with a vacuum cleaner or brush.   When you have finished, insert the top part of the filters into their slot   and push down on the bottom edge until they click into place.   5 Clean the front panel with a damp cloth and mild detergent (do NOT use   benzene, solvents or other chemicals).   Front grille   No t e   ◆◆ If you have not used the air conditioner for a long period   of tim e, set the fan going for three to four hours to dry the   inside of the air conditioner thoroughly.   Hook   Body groove   ◆◆ The rem oval of the front grille facilitates your cleaning the   air conditioner. All Manuals Search And Download.   Solving Common Problems   Before contacting the after-sales service, perform the follow ing sim ple checks.   They m ay save you the tim e and expense of an unnecessary call.   Problem   Explanation/Solution   The air conditioner does not   operate at all   ◆ Check that the breaker used for the air conditioner is switched on.   ◆ Check that the OPERATION indicator on the indoor unit is on;   if necessary press   (On/Off) on the remote control.   ◆ Check whether the TIMER indicator on the indoor unit is switched on.   If so:   - Wait until the switch-on time is reached and the air conditioner starts   up automatically   - Cancel the timer (see page 19 for further details)   ◆◆◆Check whether the operation modes of B unit and C unit are same.   In case of B unit and C unit, the heating and cooling are not   operated simultaneously but only the same operation is possible.   If they are in different operation mode, the first operated unit is run   but the later one does not operate so that the display part of indoor   unit shows the flickering lamp of OPERATION (RED) and   TURBO (RED). Refer to the page 25 for details.   In case of B unit and C unit, the   heating and cooling are not   operated simultaneously   The air conditioner does not   operate with the remote control   ◆ Check that there are no obstacles between you and the indoor unit.   ◆ Check the remote control batteries.   ◆ Check that you are close enough to the indoor unit (seven metres/   yards or less).   No beep is heard when you press   (On/Off) on the remote control   ◆ Check that you are pointing the remote control at the infrared sensor   in the middle of the indoor unit.   ◆ Replace the remote control batteries if necessary.   The air conditioner does not cool   or heat   ◆ Check that the correct operating mode has been selected   ( , , ).   ◆ The room temperature may be too low or too high.   ◆ Dust may be blocking the air filter guard; refer to page 21 for cleaning   instructions.   ◆ Check that there is no obstacle in front of the outdoor unit.   When heating, the required room   temperature is never reached and   the air conditioner frequently stops   ◆ Check that the required temperature has been set correctly.   ◆ Increase the fan speed.   ◆ If the air flow is directed downwards, use the remote control to direct it   upwards.   The fan speed does not change   ◆ Check that the operating mode is set to   , or   ; in the   when you press the   button   mode, the fan speed changes automatically and in the   it is set to AUTO.   mode,   The air flow direction does not   change when you press the   button   ◆ Check that the air conditioner has been switched on; if necessary,   press (On/Off) on the remote control.   The timer is not correctly triggered   ◆ Check that you have set the clock to the right time; see page 8.   ◆ Check that the timer has been programmed correctly; see page 16.   Odours are permeated in the room ◆ Air the room.   during air conditioning   E-22   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   Operating Your Air Conditioner Without the Remote Control   Your air conditioner can be operated directly from the indoor unit if   the rem ote control is lost or broken.   1 2 Open the front grille by pulling on the tabs on the lower right and left   sides of the indoor unit.   To switch the air conditioner on, press the ON/OFF switch on the right   side of the indoor unit.   Result: ◆ The OPERATION indicator on the indoor unit comes on.   ◆ The indoor unit beeps.   ◆ The air conditioner starts up in the most suitable mode for   the room temperature:   Room Temperature   Less than 21°C   21°C or above   Operating Mode Temperature Setting   Heat   Cool   22°C approx.   24°C approx.   3 To switch the air conditioner off, press the ON/OFF switch again.   Note   Even if the air conditioner has been switched on via the   ON/OFF switch, operations can still be controlled using the   remote control as usual.   E-23   Download from Www.Somanuals.com. All Manuals Search And Download.   Installing a Filter (Option)   The air conditioner can be fitted w ith a deodorizing and Bio-Pure   filter to rem ove m inute dust particles or odours. The service life of   the filter is approxim ately three m onths depending on the tim e   during w hich the air conditioner is used.   1 Remove the vinyl packing from the filter.   Note   Do not remove the packing from a deodorizing filter until you   wish to use the filter, as it will lose its properties.   Deodorizing   filter   2 3 4 Insert the filter in the filter holder and press the three insert tabs until   you hear a click.   Open the front grille by pulling on the tabs on the lower right and left   sides of the indoor unit.   Bio-Pure   filter   Take out the existing filter and replace it with the new one.   E-24   Download from Www.Somanuals.com.
