Your Caller ID phone stores and displays specific inform ation, provided by  
your local telephone com pany, to subscribers of Caller ID or sim ilar caller  
identification services. You m ust subscribe to one of these services in  
order to use this unit.  
Your Caller ID phone enables you to:

View the tim e and date of each incom ing call.  
Record up to 40 Caller ID m essages sequentially.  
Know who called while you were away.  
To get the m ost from your new phone, we suggest that you take a few  
m inutes right now to read through this user's guide.  
REMINDER: This product requires a subscription to Caller ID service from  
your telephone company. Check for name service availability.  
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should  
have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in  
your home goes out.

MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS  
You need an RJ 11 type m odular jack, which is the m ost  
com m on type of phone jack and m ight look like the one  
pictured here. If you don’t have a m odular jack, call your local  
phone com pany to find out how to get one installed.  
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at frequencies that  
may cause interference to nearby TVs and VCRs. To minimize or prevent such  
interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be placed near or on  
top of a TV or VCR. If such interference continues, move the cordless telephone  
farther away from the TV or VCR.  
DIGITAL SECURITY SYSTEM  
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to provide protection against  
false ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your phone line.  
When you place the handset in the base, the unit verifies its security code. After a  
power outage or battery replacem ent, you should place the handset in the base for  
about 20 seconds to reset the code.

1. Place the handset in the base.  
2. Set the RINGER switch on the handset to ON.  
3. Raise the base antenna.  
4. Plug the power supply cord into the base and then into an AC outlet.  
The CHARGE/IN USE light com es on indicating that the battery is  
charging.

5. After charging, connect the telephone cord to the phone and then to the  
wall jack.  
NOTE : The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to  
pulse (rotary) dialing, see “Tone/ Pulse Dialing. If you don’t know which type  
of service you have, check with the phone company.  
CAUTION: Use only the Thomson 5-2455 (black)/ 5-2454 (white)  
power supply that came with this unit. Using other adapters may damage  
the unit.

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION  
Because it is necessary to charge  
the handset for 12 hours prior to  
connecting the phone for use the  
first tim e, it is better to leave the  
unit on a flat surface during initial  
charge before attem pting to hang it  
on the wall.

inserting the two tabs at the top  
and then snapping the tab at the

Provided you subscribe to Caller ID

Store up to 10 24-digit num bers in  
m em ory for quick dialing. This  
m em ory feature is in addition to the  
40 Caller ID records that can be  
stored in m em ory.  
STORING A NUMBER IN MEMORY  
The phone m ust be OFF when you

CHAIN DIALING FROM MEMORY  
Use this feature to m ake calls which require a sequence of num bers such  
as using a calling card for a frequently called long distance num ber.  
Basically, you dial each part of the sequence from m em ory. The following  
exam ple shows how you can use chain dialing to m ake a call through a  
long distance service:

INSERTING A PAUSE IN THE  
DIALING SEQUENCE  
Press the REDIAL button to insert a  
delay in the dialing sequence of a  
stored telephone num ber when a  
pause is needed to wait for a dial  
tone (for exam ple after you dial 9  
for an outside line, or to wait for a  
com puter access tone). Each pause  
counts as 1 digit in the dialing  
sequence.

GENERAL PRODUCT CARE  
To keep your telephone working and looking good, follow these

unless you order Caller ID service from your phone

• The unit displays this m essage if it detects anything  
other than valid Caller ID inform ation during the  
silent period after the first ring. This m essage  
indicates either the presence of noises on the line,  
or that an invalid m essage has been sent from the  
telephone com pany.

REQUISITOS DE ENCHUFE MODULAR  
Se requiere un jack m odular RJ 11C, que es el tipo de jack m ás  
com ún y puede parecerse a la ilustración aquí. Si Ud. no tiene un  
jack m odular, llam e a su com pañía telefónica local para  
inform ación sobre la instalación del jack requerido.  
NOTA PARA LA INSTALACIÓN: Algunos teléfono inalámbricos operan a  
frecuencias que pudieran causar interferencia con aparatos de televisión o de  
video-cassette. Para minimizar o evitar esta interferencia, la base de su teléfono  
inalámbrico no debería de estar cerca o encima de la televisión o de su aparato  
de video-cassettes. Si la interferencia continúa, mueva su teléfono inalámbrico  
lejos de la televisión o video-cassettera.  
SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD DIGITAL:  
Su teléfono inalám brico utiliza un sistem a de seguridad digital para  
ofrecerle protección contra el tim brado falso, acceso no autorizado, o  
cargos a su línea telefónica.  
Cuando usted coloca el auricular sobre la base, el aparato verifica su  
código de seguridad. Después de un corte de corriente o cam bio de

NOTA: Para cargar en posición sobre superficie  
plana unicamente, el auricular se puede cargar  
volteado hacia arriba o hacia abajo.

1. Coloque el auricular sobre la base.  
2. Program e el selector del tim bre (“RINGER”) del auricular en posición de  
encendido (“ON”).  
3. Levante la antena de la base.  
4. Conecte el cable de corriente a la base y después a un contacto de  
pared. El indicador de carga (“CHARGE/ IN USE”) se ilum inará para  
indicar que la batería se está cargando.  
Deje que el teléfono se cargue durante 12 horas antes de usarlo por  
prim era vez. Si usted no carga el teléfono adecuadam ente (durante 12  
horas) cuando usted instala inicialm ente su teléfono, la operación de la  
batería puede no ser la óptim a.  
5. Después de cargar, conecte el cable del teléfono al aparato y después al  
contacto de pared.  
NOTA: El teléfono automaticamente se pasa a modalidad de discado de tono  
(touch-tone). Para cambiar a modalidad de pulso (rotatorio), vea “Discado de  
Tono/ Pulso”. Si usted no sabe qué tipo de servicio tiene, cheque con su  
compañía telefónica.  
CUIDADO: Use unicamente el cable de corriente Thomson 5-2455 (negro) /
